Works hard, decent at holding the ball up, tall, strong, can actually make runs in behind and isn't a total slouch, and most importantly he's very good with his head. If Gylfi is the gun we need someone to provide the bullets. We could do a lot worse.

He'd be the best striker to wear the shirt since Sharp mate by a country mile.

As for not being fit to wear the shirt etc, i honestly don't give a sod what he has done at other teams and how much of a right pain he can be, if he turned up and gave his all - then within weeks we'd absolutely love the bones of the bad bad snide

Hopefully neither one of them mate, ones a constant injury and the other i'm not convinced by having seen him at Leicester

Not to keen on Costa mate, in fact i think it would be a massively rubbish decision even if it got done.

I agree on Dolberg and Dembele, i dont think they are even the kind of player we need. We we need a unit who will occupy two centre backs, push the defnsive line back, be there for first time ball, hold up and to make space for the three in behind and runners. Its all very well identifying a Dolberg etc, but hes an addition to the system we play he could never be a focal point in my opinion, hes not a fit for how we will play or a priority.

I would be inclined to go for tried and trusted and the type is cast for the system, at this stage id go for Dzeko or Benteke if the Kalinic to Milan stroy is real.

His stats weren't bad last season either. 8 goals and 5 assists in 1550 mins isn't a bad ratio. I think he'd be a better option than most. Still think Dost would be better though.

Dzeko, Giroud, benteke and for a differing reason Vardy would all occupy the way we need a striker to do, all look unobtainable for various reasons though, and 2 would have major question marks - Benteke for his cba attitude half the time, and vardy for being an utter scrote of a human being.

Joyce effectively ruled all 4 out of being doable deals though recently, so have kind of moved on from thinking about those 4 mate.


As for Costa - the links are entirely based on Koeman effectively laughing whilst answering the question - as think it was regarded by him as a insanely silly question

But if you got him on a permanent deal - then he is 100% the best type of the centre forward in the world at what we are actually looking for. He can be an utter bell and is horrible to play against etc, but if he's one of yours then he's the type you end up absolutely adoring - Ferguson springs to mind, a 4 month loan for him - nah get in the bin, you'd get a bloke who'd basically be putting in a pre season effort to get fit for Madrid in January and would be a utter pointless distraction

Im hoping we just dont cut our nose of to spite our face mate, i would got to Leicester, Roma or Palace and just say 45-50mill done. Personally i would go for Benteke it has to much going for it, its a step up in prestige for him to come to the club, hes of a good age and i actually rate the lid if he was given the opportunity and could play with quality players. 15 goal a year man when on song and thats what we want. Dzeko brilliant, but be hard to move given his importance to Roma and his age isnt preferable, Vardy i dont think would suit us at all, be like Andy Johnson chasing down the flanks for a couple of seasons - as much as i loved Andy.

My concern re: Costa is he is going to need about two months prep after being on the gargle in Brazil all summer, absolutely no motivation to perform knowing he would be of the Madrid in the winter he would be on a massive wage and would generally be a destablising force i think. Be idocey to go for him, id rather go with DCL for six months up front.
