I suspect having lost Klaasen and Sanchez they will be very reluctant to sell and have no imperative to do so. I would imagine an offer well in excess of the 42 million they got for Sanchez would be required.

..I presume when Koeman spoke to Giroud at the beginning of the window he was given real encouragement that he could sign, albeit in August. Koeman particularly wanted him so waited but it hasn't materialised. Kalinic was next on the list but that also looks unlikely.

With such an important position I don't think it's worth waiting around, just work your way down the shortlist asap.

We are catching them up...and neither of us are in the champs league, they are one of the teams we should be aspiring to overtake in the league

that's true from our perspective, but look at it from girouds. had a good career there (99 goals for arsenal), family settled, won cups, played in CL. yes they're not there this year but it's the first time in absolute ages. He probably thinks they'll get back
