I hope we open our war chest and make a shock deadline day swoop.

Willian Jose or Bas Dost will do for me..
With such an important position I don't think it's worth waiting around, just work your way down the shortlist asap.
Dolberg will be more than Sanchez 50 mil plusBig picture, would either of them propel us to top 4?
Jose I doubt it (look at his record)
Dost potentially if he could hit even a similar amount of goals for us than he has done elsewhere
But Dost would be the same price as a Dolberg or similar with loads of potential...so we either go for a big gamble in dost for an even bigger gamble of top 4 this season OR we go for potential and give him experience for a season with a view of a top 4 push next year.
Dost/Jose or Dolberg
I don't see any comparison + there's other Dolberg's out there too...
Thing is, if they aren't scoring then we aren't winning. Bottom half come January isn't going to help us in any way if we aren't scoring enough.Great experience for them though and may well be massively beneficial for them in the long run.
Were not hitting top 4 anyway so should be giving players experience ready to make a big push next season when we can focus on one or two big signings to push us on.
would still need to hop someone else to get 4th.RS and Arse look to be on the way to slip up again this season.
Just saying, we could push.
That new Stoke signing (Jesse?) looked good
Dolberg will be more than Sanchez 50 mil plus
If we get a CB and a decent CF I can see us bridging the gap to 6th.would still need to hop someone else to get 4th.
It won't be for the want of trying if we don't get anyone in.
They have earned a bit of trust and confidence from us and I'm sure we'll get someone in, even if it will divide opinion most likely.
Slimani got 7 from 23 I think, nothing spectacular but not all that bad in his first season in England playing a bit part role. I read Watford and Newcastle also interested. He could surely bag 10 goals at the very least and then you would hope the others chip in.
Ironically if he went to Watford it could be a case of #WelcomeTroy. I like his work ethic but would much prefer Slimani if it came down to those two.
Either way it will be a punt on someone hoping that they can make up 40-50% of Lukaku's goals.
yeah I could see us fighting for 5th/6th with the club's you mentioned if we get a striker in. that being said all 5th would change is not having to do the EL qualifiers, other than that we'd be in the same situation. i just hope we make a serious push for a cup. I'd take 8th-10th for a trophy. hell I'd take 17th and an FA cupIf we get a CB and a decent CF I can see us bridging the gap to 6th.
