Because top strikers want champions league footy. At their pay, cash is not everything, almost, but not quite.

..I always think 'want Champions League football' is an odd statement. Celtic are regularly in the Champions League, Manchester United didn't play in it last season, Arsenal aren't playing in it this season. So if Arsenal and Celtic are competing for a player, does that mean he chooses Celtic?

I don't think it's an accurate statement. Players want to play for the glamour clubs, they want those clubs on their CV.

I still disagree. All those clubs either have always been in CL or have every chance of being in it. Even everton fans would be delighted and somewhat surprised if we made it. You can't say that about urinated or arsenal. Everyone knows celtic will do nothing in the CL, the TNS of Scotland.

Dembele would be my choice, I think he's proved enough in the championship and SPL farmers league now that there's something about him. For any doubts about the league, yes it's about league 2 standard, but we've dropped some clangers (Van Dijk) when we've opted to look elsewhere when the answer was staring us in the face north of the border.

But for every van dijk there's about 30 players that have crossed the border and been utterly amateur quality

Agree on Dembele if we can't get a quality proven target man then go for him he has higher potential than most mentioned.

We need a striker in this week hopefully before Sundays trip to Chelsea just can't see who though.. I would go for Slimani or Dost think they would fit right in with are style of play and both would get 15 goals easy.
