That IS a problem.
What possesses these footballers to make them sign contracts with such ridiculous release clauses?.
Just sign every striker from South America until we find the next Batistuta.
Lukaku scoring regularly for Man Utd, while we still search around for a replacement. No way we should have let that happen.
Should have been sorted months ago, seems like we spent ages waiting to see about Giroud.
Great experience for them though and may well be massively beneficial for them in the long run.
Were not hitting top 4 anyway so should be giving players experience ready to make a big push next season when we can focus on one or two big signings to push us on.
That's a more level headed post. Really don't see the worry me IF we don't get a target man. Think we have more than enough about us to go and win games!
None of us knows do we. That's all of y'alls faults for chasing off every decent ITK we ever had and leaving us with this laughable charade. So come on then folks. As interesting as everyone's opinion is, what is the word on the streets? Who are we really looking like getting up front?
Looking at some info on strikers from other leagues we have been linked, however tenuously, with....
Jorgensen - lots of goals (25), lots of assists (17). Some concern though, in his 8 games against Fenerbahce, Man United, Ajax and PSV he managed just one assist and no goals.
Jimenez - looks very athletic, but has the lowest goal total (11 in 32). He did average a goal per 100 minutes though, which is not bad. In Champions league play he got 90 minutes in only one game and did score (against Napoli).
Willian Jose - seems to tick all of Koeman's boxes. 14 goals in 34 matches consistently scoring or assisting against top sides like Barca, Atletic and Villarreal.
At this point I'd take a retired Batistuta...still better than 90% of the forwards out there.
He's not Italian, and only been in Italy for a season I believe so I can't imagine he has any strong links to the country. Its does seem to only be Italian clubs linked though. Wages, and the "prestige of the premier league" are 2 potential lures we could use for a player his age and profile. Get Koeman to sell him on the project
To be honest.. even given the opportunity of a loan deal for Diego Costa I can understand the reluctance among the EvertonI don't believe any world class striker will consider signing for Everton at the moment mate. Sadly.
I think Giroud is probably dead in the water....He has shown NO inclination for a move away from Arsenal.
Have there been any recent Quotes from him showing discontent?
