Summer Transfer Window 2017

Perhaps so, but very unlikely in January if you are a striker who is good enough to be going to the world cup and would he an upgrade on lewen in that scenario. If people think now the striker pool is small then 5 months from now that pool will be even smaller.
If you are...say Giroud
No significant game time upto January and thoughts of the World Cuo.
You would be banging the door down for a move.
I'm sure there's a few in his position.

Anyway I want a Striker in before Sept 1st.

I reckon there's a chance that we're waiting on the outcome of Thursday night to see how the rest of the window is going to pan out. If we go out for instance (touch wood we don't like!) maybe Koeman will think twice about needing another defender in.
Was thinking this myself, might change the budget or how many players we need, if we stay in the need for a bigger squad is greater, if we go out what coin we have left can all go on one player and we could maybe let one or two squad players go to free up wages.

"That tackle looks a little late from Matip on Costa, who's put Everton two nil up here at Anfield . ... Oh my word Costa has literally just ripped off Milner's spine and put it round Matip as a tribal warscarf... surely thats.... no just a yellow card there..."
THATS VINTAGE COSTA RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!

Gettin a player in for 4 months is ridiculous. No matter who he is. It's small time mentality.

He will have zero motivation... he's not even playing for a move... he's already got one... absolutely no point in trying to get him till January .... or at all if he's already agreed to leave.... he's rofessionalism isn't exactly the best as it is ... you would need the ultimate pro to put in decent effort when he knows he's off already and an injury could ruin any move... this deal is not the answer...

If we got Costa till Jan he might have something to prove, or a contract with high performance bonuses, but it is a legitimate worry he has nothing to play for since his future is already looking sorted.
I just wish Walsh could find one of these players we have never heard of that is top class but not on anyone's radar, I thought that's why we got him. Keane, Pickford, Rooney and Siggy anyone could of identified, yes great players but hardly the result of 12 months of scouting Europe

Why would Sandro not play as the 9 though? Did it for Malaga...

Kempf was part of the squad but honestly can't remember him, then again I didn't watch many if the Germany games.

I don't even remember watching Germany or the England games really, totally boring tournament.

I think if Sandro played as 9 he'd drift back and out wide so may as well call him a false 9 and as he drifts Keita and others take the space hes left

But what if it was Walsh who picked out Jimenez or someone else the majority think are gash? Are we willing to give a diamond in the rough a chance?

Maybe Giroud was plan A and the diamond in the rough is plan B.... being that he "is in the rough", under the radar and all Big Ron and Walshy may figure they can give Giroud more time to contemplate his lot in life before making a final decision.

Lots can happen in the last 10 days of a window.....

Hmm, but who? Not a big fan of Gibson. Maguire looks like someone who would of been a good bit of business for us IF we were interested?! Players like Inigo Martinez Ameryic Laporte would be awesome but would they be getable?

I'd like a target man striker, I would, but it's not the be all or end all for us imo. Think we've got goals in us now and in a player like Sigurdsson, from set plays we can get goals from nothing, goals that can get us points even when we're not at the races and that's a big plus to have!

Laporte wasn't great last season...not sure who, just someone whose similar age to Keane and we could keep together for a long time.

Preferably someone enormous and rapid.
