Common sense would say, that once the club knew that Lukaku wanted to go, the signing of a proper replacement goal scorer became a very high priority and potential players identified.

Have faith that the wheels are in motion behind the scenes and this is happening.

There's still ten days left yet after all.

..and 14 hours Matey.

I like both Sandro and Rooney but neither are players that can play in the Lukaku role.

I don't expect us to get a like for like replacement and get the idea that the goals should be shared around more but it was clearly a mistake ( same as Swansea) not to get one in before we let Lukaku go.

not even Lukaku can play in the Lukaku role hahalol

I think there is a small chance Giroud could still happen. Lacazette will start every game because he's their record buy and the fans would riot if he didn't. Sanchez is still to come back and looks likely to stay. Wenger also loves Welbeck and Giroud is very much a plan B or even C for them when their natural style isn't working. He can get 15 mins here and there for Arsenal or 90 minutes week in week out for us.

Other than Giroud i have absolutely no idea who we might be in for. I'm positive and we've had a great window but realistically the next two signings are our most important. We won't challenge the top 6 without a goal scorer.

All valid points, but I think it's safe to say Wenger loves Giroud too; he's his Plan B. And it looks as though Giroud is happy to be that.

As for who else we would go for: Willian Jose has to be a realistic shout based on previous interest.
