Summer Transfer Window 2017

Laporte wasn't great last season...not sure who, just someone whose similar age to Keane and we could keep together for a long time.

Preferably someone enormous and rapid.

agree, would love us to spend big on a CB. laporte and keane would be solid as for years...with coleman, baines and schnieds, gana in front...ooozes clean sheets and solid base to play from.

the rest of our team would have so much freedom. would be quitely confident in our existing attacking players to get out there and score a few goals. we could focus on getting a top striker mid season or this time next year.

.....approximately 10 days and 16 hours left on the transfer countdown clock. Here's the rumour round-up for this Monday morning;

- Club Call website say Newcastle goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman, is going nowhere in this transfer window. Newcastle have apparently warned Everton off making any move for the youngster.

- The Liverpool Echo quote Ronald Koeman talking about this transfer window; "We did good business, and I think it's normal, it doesn't always happen at the start of the Premier League, you already have five, six, seven players in. And if you like to bring more players in maybe it takes time to do that."

- In April, the Daily Mail said Everton were closing in on Real Sociadad's Brazilian striker, Willian Jose, in a £28m move. That rumour then went cold but reports are suggesting the Toffees interest in the 25 year old is being revived.

- According to the Daily Mirror, Everton are one of three English sides interested in Bristol City's 24 year old playmaker, Bobby Reid.

It's easy to bad mouth Walsh, but the requirements for new signings at Everton are clearly going to be somewhat different to those at Leicester City. I assume he needs agreement from the manager and board before signing any identified targets, and its clear from what we have bought so far that they want established perfomers from across Europes top leagues for the most part.

Tha media really are struggling for any rumours , let alone players , of substance.

Let's hope this is the lull before the storm.

I like both Sandro and Rooney but neither are players that can play in the Lukaku role.

I don't expect us to get a like for like replacement and get the idea that the goals should be shared around more but it was clearly a mistake ( same as Swansea) not to get one in before we let Lukaku go.

...I'm sure he agrees requirements with Koeman before identifying targets and agreeing them with the Manager. From Koeman's recent quotes, it still sounds like it's Kenwright's job to make them happen. This is from yesterday's Echo;

'Koeman was given constant reassurances from Chairman Bill Kenwright that the club would eventually agree terms with Sigurdsson with hard bargaining Swansea. Koeman said, "Yeah, but from the beginning, when I heard from the Board, when I heard from Chairman Bill, he was always so calm. He said, "I will do the business but we need to be patient".

Purely fantasy football based but there must be one or two players at psg that would improve us That they would sell? Surely some incoming money would help them out with these giant bids leaving a decent player available?

I'd go for a monster next to Keane, not sure who as Koulibaly seems out of reach, Sanchez would have been good.

If we cant get someone like that then we need to go for an intelligent defender whose positioning is Impeccable...again not sure who.

That would be better I think, clean sheets and less stress and we can play a higher line allowing the forward players a solid base
