Yea but that volley he scored against Blackpool. Worth his wages alone since he was a nominal fee/free (can't remember). Not that I'm saying we should've signed Wood.Been there, done that.

Anyway we shouldn't be selling McCarthy now Barry has gone. Be daft to leave ourselves short.
I am more surprised that he cost 15m.Just seen Burnley signed Chris Wood from Leeds for about 15m
Surprised that there wasn't more interest in last season's top scorer in the Championship.
He can also play CB too and help cover that area. Not sure he could cover LB though. He is very much two footed but prefers his right. Over 6ft, good in the air, quick, built like a rock and passes the ball better than a young Ronald Koeman. And apparently has said he wants to play under Koeman. Yes please. He is the one signing I really hope we make before the window shuts. He is affordable and would make our defensive midfield unit one of the best around with the luxury of rotating top class players as United/City/Chelsea do. Get shut of McCarthy and bring him in please Everton.
The Bas Dost story is from months ago though isn't it? Haven't anything about us being linked with him for a whileStrikers we are currently "linked" with.
Overall goals throughout career.
Lucas Perez 1 in 4
Willian Jose 1 in 4
Raul Jiminez 1 in 3
Mousa Dembele 1 in 2
Bas Dost. 1 in 2
Obviously Dembele only scored in the Championship & Scotland.
Perez & Jose have played in La liga but also been at a fair few lower clubs.
Jiminenez is obviously talented but seems to have stalled somewhat.
Dost looks to have consistently scored wherever he has played. More of a target man than the other 4 plus scores plenty.
I'd be happy with any of them tbh.
If its right Koeman & Walsh want the big target man tho Das Boot does fit the bill.
Hard part is trying to get deal done with any Portugese clubs.

That would have been on here mate.Read something somewhere last week....i think.
Didn't he give us the shoulder?

Probably , like the Benteke chatter...seen quite a bit about Dost in May & July in the press & an obscure site early this month. That would have been on here mate.
It reminded so much of Beattie vs Arsenal. Run through the middle and hold off both centerbacks.Plus his long run for the goal against Chelsea is one of my favourites
