Fergie signing RVP was low risk because their chances of winning honours were so high, and the club generates a massive amount of money anyway.

We are in a much weaker situation competitively (i.e. less likely to win honours) and financially. The two situations aren't comparable.

I agree we need to invest in players that can deliver now, but we also want to build for the long-term. The stakes are too high to gamble on reaching champs league in the next 2 years. What if it bankrupted us?

Moshiri is an accountant
He knows the figures.
To fill a big stadium you need a good team in Europe every year.
There is a plan in place.
Not like when Corries finest got by window to window

We are though aren't we. DCL, Sandro, Lookman, Keane, Pickford etc etc...

I just am struggling with people going all mad about it when it's from the paper that we all know makes up 99% of it's football stories.

It's weird.

I think we're all so aware that we desperately need a striker - We've hardly been linked with one since the Giroud thing died on the vine and the mere mention of another striker has people going bonkers

Exactly but you'll win nothing with kids.

Eh maybe not the best time to use that quote.

Even the so called class of 92 had a spine of older more experienced players.
Can't keep building for the future and end up selling our best players because they want to win trophies now, not in the future.

If Vardy can score 25 league goals for us this season we could have 50/60 CL money to spend next summer.
We have got to change our mentality.
Fergie signing RVP springs to mind
No guarantee he'd slot 25, and even if he did it would most likely not result in us securing a top 4 spot.

And rvp was a completely different level to vardy, not to mention Utd are one of the richest clubs on the planet that can take that sort of risk, we although now have a bit of wedge don't have infinite amounts

Brady ?????
If you mean Vardy no he wouldn't.
Either would Messi , no one would.
But we would have a lot better chance of success NEXT SEASON with Vardy at 40 m then say Dolberg for the same amount.
I'm not saying we should get a teenager. There would be a lot more value in a 27/28 year old though.
