Summer Transfer Window 2017

This kid walks straight into the first team. Watching the game last Thursday I said to my lad the number 8 is carving us open every time he gets on the ball. Little did I know he's the lad that (hopefully) we're going to buy

Reminds me of Thomas Hassler

We're really stockpiling young players.

Sandro
Lookman
Calvert-Lewin
Davies
Holgate
Vlasic
Dowell
Kenny
Williams
Walsh
Onyekuru
Markelo
Gibson
Bowler
Donkor
Mathis
Connolly
Robinson
Sambou
Foulds
Galloway
Pennington

Gets pretty iffy down the bottom there obviously but that's a loooot of talented young players. That's only including players who (I think) we've either bought, or have had senior experience somewhere. Monaco's change in strategy a few years ago was basically 'get loads of great kids and assume a bunch will make it', so hopefully our long-term recruitment is better than our short-term.

These players look the likeliest to make an impact for us.

Defenders
Holgate
Kenny
Gibson
Connolly

Midfielders
Walsh
Davies

Attacking midfielders
Lookman
Dowell
Onyekuru
Bowler

Forwards
Sandro
Calvert-Lewin

I said last week sometime, Vlasic looks like Thomas Hassler one of my favourite players in the insanely good old German teams.

2 footed, great balance, can dribble and pass.

...just 2 days 16 hours of the window left. Here's Tuesday's rumour round-up;

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are considering a bid for Cardiff striker Kenneth Zohore. It is thought Brighton have already had 2 bids turned down for the 23 year old Dane.

- The Guardian and various outlets report Everton are on the verge of a 10m Euro deal for Hadjuk Split midfielder Nikola Vlasic. Club Call website say the 19 year old caught the eye of Ronald Koeman in the recent Europa League clash and the Croatian club would find it difficult to turn down a deal in the region of £10m. Hadjuk manager, Ivan Kos, is quoted as saying, "the transfer window runs until 31st August, sometimes transfers happen at the last minute. We don't want to lose one per cent of our quality. We also have to think about financial stability."

- 4th Official pick up on a report from Sergio Ortiz in Spain that Diego Costa's move to Atletico Madrid is done with the striker possibly going on loan to Everton until January.

- The Guardian report neither Spurs or Chelsea have bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, but The Times suggest both could try and sign the player before the window shuts.

- Royal Blue Website speculates if Everton might take advantage of a hold up in Aymen Abdennour's transfer from Valencia to Zenit. The Toffees are said to have had a previous bid rejected.

This bit of dribble from This is futbal :-

Was Kevin Sheedy the last player we got from the RS, next it will be Shako as well.... Jebus!

Everton would add the missing piece to their jigsaw by rivalling Tottenham in the north London giants’ reported pursuit of Liverpool striker Divock Origi this summer.

The Telegraph claim that 22-year-old striker Origi could be allowed to leave Anfield permanently before Thursday’s deadline, which strikes at 11pm.

Belgium international Origi is concerned that he may not get the game time required to earn a place in his nation’s World Cup squad, and is willing to leave the club in search of first-team football.

It is said that Tottenham could be interested in the former Lille striker, who has plummeted down the pecking order at Liverpool behind Daniel Sturridge, Dom Solanke and Roberto Firmino.

Marseille and Anderlecht are also said to be keen, but Everton should look to beat all three sides by luring him to Goodison Park from their bitter Merseyside rivals this summer.

Everton are yet to properly replace the loss of Romelu Lukaku in the final third, after Origi’s national side teammate joined Manchester United for a huge fee of £90million.

Everton have brought in Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, but the latter’s recent heel injury has highlighted the need for a new striker with Rooney preferred in a deeper role.

Oumar Niasse is expected to leave the club with Brighton reportedly eyeing the Senegal international, and that should see Koeman add another striker to his squad.

Origi possesses many similar traits to Lukaku in that he offers an aerial prowess, power as well as speed and the ability to catch the eye with the ball at his feet.

His Premier League form is not bad either. Origi has only started 21 of his 51 top-flight outings in England’s highest division, scoring 12 times as well as laying on five assists.

Putting bitter rivalries aside, Origi would be the perfect replacement for Lukaku if Everton can beat the likes of Tottenham, Marseille and Anderlecht to his signature in the next three days.

He's no Lukaku but he wouldn't be a bad option.
