Summer Transfer Window 2017

League One Dominic Calvert-Lewin is our replacement for 100 million goal machine Romelu Lukaku. Best get used to it. It's ok, we've only got about 60 games ahead of us this season.

75 million with adds on`s ........ I remember a Manager at Chelsea who did not play a player, as they were in a comfortable position
and if the player played, they would have to meet the `add on`s ` .........

I can smell the fume... if we are after a no-mark Cardiff striker called Kenneth, we are well and truly desperate.

Troy must have turned us down!

Someone start a January transfer window thread? I wonder can we get Giroud then when we are 12th? :pint2:

Spot on really. We've known for months that we need a quality striker, and yet, here we are...

No idea if this lad is any good.
Surely if we were serious about wanting him, he/his agent would be here like a shot.

Looking at the BBC feed it claims Leicester want Krychowiak from PSG. He is a quality player. Although a DM, Sunday proved we could do with another with Schniederlin missing!

The confirmation that we've been knocked back for a Championship striker in our attempts to replace Lukaku is pretty grim stuff to be reading 48 hours before the deadline.

You've got to be honest with yourself and admit none of us hoped that we would be looking to the Championship for a striker before the window shuts because we failed over the entire summer to bring in an adequate replacement.

Made up with players we brought in but missing a striker. Not good as we all knew lukaku was going before end of last season

Pre-Moshiri was sell to buy.

The Moshiri era coincides with us receiving our slice of the biggest TV deal in history, so rightly we are spending more than we're receiving, yet we're still unable to keep hold of our best players. We were under no pressure to sell Lukaku whatsoever, yet sold him to the first bidder, whose bid is now looking tiny compared to what's gone on afterwards in the market. 140m for Coutinho? Crazy that we sold him so early in the summer with no replacement lined up, and for such a relative pittance.

Last season's Everton, minus Lukaku and Barkley, plus Pickford/Keane/Sandro/Rooney/Klaassen/Sigurdsson = worse off than had we bought and sold nobody, such is the importance of having a goal machine of a striker. To me, Sandro, Klaassen, Rooney are marginal improvements at best.

I get that we have signed some good players, but not replacing your absolute star player is outrageous by all concerned.

Good lord man. Take this nonsense somewhere else. There was 0% chance that Lukaku was staying.

Unless Koeman has said "I don't care he's said no, get me Giroud" I would imagine it wouldn't be on him. But it begs asking, why the hell are we waiting until almost literally the last moment?
Because maybe his first choice is still a possibility (Giroud)

He's 4th choice at the minute he can't be happy with that
