In my opinion it's desperately disappointing that we've left it so late - we've known Lukaku would be off for some time.

You cannot compare football 30 years ago to football today. You cannot afford to gamble on unproven teenagers from lower leagues. Relegation can ruin a club nowadays due to its financial impact. Quality needs to be replaced with quality, not some lucky punt for a few quid. And for what it's worth I like DCL and think he has huge potential, but he should not be starting games as our striker.

Relegation can ruin a club, but even if we didn't get another striker, which I think we will, we wouldn't be fighting relegation.The fact that we are capable of keeping clean sheets alone would be near enough a guarantee of survival. That said, DCL shouldn't be our first choice centre forward.

But the point is, somebody was willing to pay £15m for Ibe and wouldn't be for Pennington, McGeady or Gibson. A better comparison would be Deulofeu, who we got £12m for.

We'd of got £20m for Deulofeu at least but for the buy back clause

I would gladly take Zohore. If he ends up at the right club, I could see him lighting the league up. I think we have had our eyes on him all along, but we wanted to see how he progressed.

Clearly not if the one currently playing in the Championship is being quoted at circa £30m... nor would he be identified as our primary striker in the first place.
