Yes and on the same hour of the same day he said he wanted to play for a `bigger club` so we knew he wanted out he spoke about leaving at every opportunity and 4 years later with 48 hours to go we have no replacement !!

No. Rewatch what DCL did against City. When he was our striker he pulled defenders usually Otamendi but Kompany a bit as well as far wide as possible for Rooney to exploit the space (i.e. our goal, DCL comes from wide to supply Rooney as the most advanced central player).

Then watch how Lukaku played for us (imperfect example I know as he always wanted the ball in behind). He stayed very central as does Llorente, Benteke ... etc. That's what I mean when I say target man but it's a undefinable term.

DCL played there because it was City and he was absolutely a target player in that match - but yes, we moved out wide. Constant Pickford long balls in the air to DCL. City has one decent CB in the air, that's Kompany, which is why he was moved outside. That's one club. He didn't play that way with Pelle and won't play that way unless the other team dictates it. Regardless, King isn't playing that way. He isn't going to win balls in the air over Otamendi, he's not good in the air, and is not what we need. Again, he's not a bad player, but he's not much different than what we have.

16 goals isn't anything to sneeze about, but Benteke got 15, Llorente got 15, and both are more stylistically what I think Ronnie is looking for.

Just occurred to me, but with Sky, like mainly, keeping this circus in place with the cash and their idiotic TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY yellow tie nonsense, do they suggest to clubs to keep some deals back for the benefit of their programming?
