I honestly don't know how to react at times. I don't know whether to be grateful that this summer we've actually had a well funded coherent (somewhat) transfer strategy or to join in with those yelling at our inept striker search.

Just occurred to me, but with Sky, like mainly, keeping this circus in place with the cash and their idiotic TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY yellow tie nonsense, do they suggest to clubs to keep some deals back for the benefit of their programming?

Or is that a theory too far?

I'm not really a conspiracy kind of guy, but I've long thought that TV has an unhealthy influence on a lot of areas of the game!

Definitely, but he's a striker a few have named on here as an option, and it's another option gone.

Whoever we bring in will cause uproar, Giroud/Dzeko would be my wish, but if they are unavailable and we end up bringing in a journey man some will be fuming.

We have largely strengthened the team, just need a guy who can slot. The season we sold Rooney, I recall being dead angry at bringing in Marcus Bent, but he did well - better than well.

Sometimes we don't know how a player can contribute, Kevin Campbell was another one. If we end up plumping for a lad that has talent and hasn't quite made his mark yet, but just needs a little bit more nurturing will you be happy?

Regardless of being happy, I think the key is patience. Too many fans want it all now. DCL looks promising, certainly not ready for full first team action week in week out, but as it stands he will contribute as I am sure anyone we will bring in will. We need to be patient and let them grow, too many people are that agitated by the striker situation they want blood.

If people think the striker is the difference between 7th and 4th then they need a reality check. We are a long way off 4th place. Personally feel this season we will do well to close in on others above us, with a bit of help from Wembley and Monsieur Wenger that may be a little easier.

Patience ladies and gentleman, it'll take time for us to grow.
