Summer Transfer Window 2017

But surely as soon as giroud turned us down, we should have moved into our other targets. If plan b fails, we move onto the next. It's unbelievable but quite conceivable that we might not have a replacement for Rom come the end of the window.

Even if he hadn't turned us down, and Giroud said he needed time to think about it, I would have hoped we would have still been chasing our other striker targets.

I know it's not related to us but as an example of what an opportunity this year (the state of Arsenal) is and an example of how insane this window has been.

"Interestingly, we understand that the deal would also include Arsenal paying a fee to City as a makeweight.

So, to confirm, that's Arsenal paying City a fee for Sterling, with Sanchez also going to City. Wow!"

If that happens it's the most crazy deal yet! I know Sanchez is in the last year of his contract but it's still mental.

Definitely, but no way should we have sold Rom in the first place without securing a main striker ,if it meant upsetting Rom so be it he had two years left on his contract we should have held all the cards on this deal

Whoever we bring in will cause uproar, Giroud/Dzeko would be my wish, but if they are unavailable and we end up bringing in a journey man some will be fuming.

We have largely strengthened the team, just need a guy who can slot. The season we sold Rooney, I recall being dead angry at bringing in Marcus Bent, but he did well - better than well.

Sometimes we don't know how a player can contribute, Kevin Campbell was another one. If we end up plumping for a lad that has talent and hasn't quite made his mark yet, but just needs a little bit more nurturing will you be happy?

Regardless of being happy, I think the key is patience. Too many fans want it all now. DCL looks promising, certainly not ready for full first team action week in week out, but as it stands he will contribute as I am sure anyone we will bring in will. We need to be patient and let them grow, too many people are that agitated by the striker situation they want blood.

If people think the striker is the difference between 7th and 4th then they need a reality check. We are a long way off 4th place. Personally feel this season we will do well to close in on others above us, with a bit of help from Wembley and Monsieur Wenger that may be a little easier.

Patience ladies and gentleman, it'll take time for us to grow.

Important not to panic. If the right striker is not available I would rather we keep, our powder dry then spunk silly money on a Troy Deeney type
