Summer Transfer Window 2017

What a confusing window this is... can't decide if we've had a good or bad one.

Barkley going will edge it towards being a terrible one unless we pull miracles off at this point I think.

I think our starting 11 last weekend was weaker than the starting 11 at the same time last season. It's also near where near strong enough to compete in 4 competitions. I'm really disappointed that we only really seem to have spent the Lukaku money, as many people called, with the extra thrown in for Sigurdsson.

There is no way we'll get 2/3 first team players in before the deadline tomorrow. Baffles me why everyone is still discussing it when they've had well over 6 months to target the replacements required (particularly for Lukaku) and pay the going rates. Now they're trying to sweat the assets we have and they're not good enough to win a pot this season - no chance.

The window is a failure for me. And I'm gutted.

Serious questions need to be asked if we don't get a striker in at the very least. We've needed to sign a striker for 2 years now. The last 4 weeks Koeman has constantly said we need a striker. After a GK it was probably the most important position on the pitch so how we've got to this point without one – it will be unforgivable and will taint all the good work we have done this summer is we fail to get someone in.
Err
So who is going to ask thesr "serious questions"
Who will provide the answers
Who will hold the perpetrators of failure to account ?

Pretty much this is gonna go one of two ways now mate, very very well - out of the blue and knock our socks off, or very very badly and it will be very much a kick in the nuts to everyone who thought things had been markedly changed.

Fore me if it's the latter of the two it will show us as financially not really backing words with actions, unlike last season we have attracted a certain profile we failed to last time, Klassen, Sandro show we can attract a good level of foreign player to join, so if we bust out on bringing in a centre back and a striker - both of quality, then it's not because we cant sell them the project.

rather it will show we weren't willing to pay the prices or wages needed, and that very very much will show that ultimately the club is happy where we are in the pecking order of the league.

Moshiri talked about a very small window of opportunity we have to bridge the gap before the chance is gone, this is the window and the next two days are the chance.

The Evertonian in me thinks we are gonna mess this up absolutely spectacularly.

Mate there's a well-known and very apposite saying that could well apply here: you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

So let's allow ourselves to believe that Mosh does have the cash and the will to back up his stated ambition (humour me...), in our current position - top 7, no CL, signs of ambition with new signings but just been schooled by both City and Chelsea - what level of striker will be willing to come here right now, no matter how much we pay? Now go back to the list we have been considering...

My point is, if we don't get a 'top striker' in this window, it isn't an automatic conclusion that it's only to do with all this net spend crap.

To be fair we were mid table club when he took over.
Yes, with a load of great young players who could have reached their potential with us. Heck, Lukaku hit 25 when he was 23 years of age! Deulofeu is now starting for Barca! There best be some big signings in the next 30-odd hours or I will not stream the game on the next match day. #Votingwithclicks

...Croatian outlet Index say Nikola Vlasic is travelling to Merseyside for a medical today after Everton agreed a fee with Hadjuk Split. The fee is 10m Euros but apparently Hadjuk only receive 70% of that amount with the remainder going to the players family. This is normal practice in Croatia.

The player will earn 1m Euros after tax.

Croatian newspaper 24Sata slightly disagree, saying the fee is 8.7m Euros and Everton will have to be careful that they are not gazumped by other interested parties.

I don't know why they're turning down £25m for a player who doesn't want be there, and who the manager doesn't even rate, when they can't scrape together enough money to buy a striker.

One would hope Moshiri as he's top dog. I'm guessing (because i don't actually know) you don't become or stay a billionaire by making the same mistakes every 6 months, you learn from them so at some point if those responsible for our transfers dealings are constantly falling short you'd hope he'd ask the questions and take the required action.
For the record i think we've had a good window, a massive summer of change but despite the money and progress we've made we are still here 2 days before the window closes no closer to signing a player in the one position we desperately need.

At the moment I'd have to say it's been a bad one. Not awful, but disappointing. Without sounding like Martinez, I think you should aim to come out of every window stronger than you went in. At the moment we're weaker in my opinion, with some good signings unfortunately being undermined that we look rather toothless in attack, and still have a couple of areas where we lack quality/competition. A couple of good signings can still tip it the other way though.

Either him or Ryazantsev you'd imagine.

I reckon 80 million would get us Ben Gibson, Moussa Dembele & Demari Gray

Flog Ross off for 35m, and whatever we could get for Niasse & McCarthy lets say 50m

i'd call that good business
