At no point did I say they were bad business, but we have not been scared of throwing big money like never before at players this season.
I think the fact that Buffon at £32 was the record fee for a goalkeeper, and that stood for 16 years suggests that £30m is a lot for that position. But once again, good business and looks a cracking player

What I was referring to with the Barkley post yesterday, is that him and Koeman have seemed to be getting on the past couple of weeks and differences seems to be easing. Barkley has hinted very much about staying and Koeman seems to be warming to the idea. There was a fallout but that was not just between the two in question either.
Nothing new about the defender from what I posted last, so it all testing the water at the moment.

In a world where neymar is valued at 200 million and Chris woods is valued at 15 million is it really throwing money about?
Compared to what? Before my time but some fans remember Trevor Francis going for 1 million pounds, surely the market 15 years ago was ridiculous compared to That?
And especially considering our net spend could be getting close to 0 if we don't sign anyone and sell Ross for anywhere near what we want for him.
That is the perspective here, what some may call overpriced deals here there and everywhere and our bank balance could potentially be affected by under 10 million in terms of transfer fees despite spending over 100 million on them
