Liverpool have been mugged off there.

Oxlade chamberlain: 24, 1 year left. 18 goals in 162 appearances.

Barkley: 23, 1 year left. 21 goals in 150 appearances.

Sets the bar for what we should be getting for Ross
And you've got to consider chamberlain has been playing in a far better team during this period.

He has been in every goal we have scored in competitive games bar 2.

He also saved us the point vs City.

The Klaassen hate needs to stop. It's ludicrous.

He is a midfielder not an out an out striker so needs to contribute effectively throughout the game to the general play. He has been a passenger so far. It has almost been like playing with 10.5 men. When he does get involved he gives the ball away more often the not. You can't overlook that just because he made one clever run in a match which freed up some space for Rooney to score or because he did his defensive duties and followed his man back to make 1 clearance. Hopefully he just needs a bit more time to adapt but surely you can't think he has performed well so far?

He's not some raw 21yo mate, or a lad/kid etc, he's 26 and should be at his peak.

A inconsistent player in a weak league and at a dominant team is not going to find consitancy at his age in a much stronger league

We would have had to have scouted a lot of Benfica games to have seen him for more than 5-10 minutes mate as he didn't start too many

he also suffered three separate decent length injuries in the last couple of years

Maybe he was touted as some wonder-kid one day long ago, but he's 26 and not actually shown all this talent at either of his former clubs

He is the type of striker we laughed at West Ham for signing over recent years.

Ste, can you stop being a horror towards Raul ffs.

I already know the Ox's stats were dirt but wow that makes me realize that Ross really needs to score more goals. Awful record for playing in his position...

His inconsistency is a concern, certainly. That being said, has he had consistent playing time? He was pretty productive in 19 games last year, was pretty darn good for Club America when he was younger, and he does have talent.

Perhaps he's a bit of a late bloomer, often bigger, target type guys are, but if that's our guy, man...that's a big risk.

If we keep ross that would be a new signing in itself. Jiminez and a solid cb and this window has been brilliant. Remember Coleman and bolasie will be back soon, Sandro will grow and dcl is only going to get better.

So much to be positive about. Granted it has been left late to find a striker but the way we got all our other targets without fuss, except sig, shows we have stuff going on.

Also, renato to Swansea is madness.

Coleman and Bolasie won't be back until next year and who knows whether they will be the same players

Amazing what you can do with hormones these days

Sandro cost nothing in today's market so was worth a punt.

The jury is well truly out on Klassen suitability to this league based on preseason. We can't write the lad off after a handful of games but it looking ominous.

Siggurdson is a good player but to compare to some of the names you have listed is OTT. If memory serves most of his assist are coming from dead balls rather than open play. We don't have players that are as good as the likes of Coutinho, Silva, Eriksen at making something happen in open play. This is why I would have opted for Mahrez rather than Gilfi (safe option)
Why is it looking ominous for Klaasen ?
