Are you ready for this...

July 26th - "We have lost (Ramiro) Funes Mori to a knee injury and I am looking to replace him. We lost Romelu Lukaku and brought in Sandro Ramirez but we are trying to sign another striker and maybe one more."

August 3rd - "We need two more front players"

August 11th - "But still now we really have one striker, in my opinion ... “But compare that to the big teams and what they have on the bench or even in the stands and it is a big difference to Everton."

August 16th - "We still need to sign a striker."

August 21st - "We are looking for a left-footed central defender, maybe as back-up for Leighton Baines ... Also a striker because I think even with the talent of Dominic and Ramirez, look to other squads. They have that number of players. If we need to make the next step we need a striker in as well."

August 26th - "We need at least two more players to get numbers in, but the most important thing is to get a striker in,"

I hope Ronald walks away from this shambles. He will be absolutely fuming, I hope he hasn't had a drink tonight.

Get that completely useless waste of money Steve Walsh straight into the bin. What a terrible appointment.

Farhad Moshiri please stop chatting wham to Jim White and just get on with building a competitive football club, clear out the board room and sort yourself out.
Bang on. I wish, just for a while, we could have a chairman that would support the manager properly. Or, failing that, one who could at least shut the [Poor language removed] up so as not to make us look like a bunch of divs all of the sodding time. Tonight has been plain embarrassing. I'm not RonKo's biggest fan but he has been given a massive middle finger tonight. RonKo says we have one striker at the club, I'm guessing he means Niasse, because beyond that waste is space I count zero. Sandro, DCL and Rooney are all forward players but not one of them is a striker.

I literally just said who it was in the one you quoted. Kolasinic(sp) who went to Arsenal. We offered SIZABLE wages which means we wanted to upgrade the position. We didn't over almost 3 months. Hell, Im not even sure we were LINKED to another one besides him after that.

Not sure what you're getting at. We missed out on a player who we were interested in, so we must sign someone in the same position?

Not sure, but I'm sure there's a reason he's at Arsenal and not here. If we were trying to get in a free LB that tells you what you need to know.

So, those questions.

1. Highly unlikely given our additional participation in the Europa league, plus the fact we have a number of recognised forwards but no striker other than DCL.

2. In midfield yes and Keane infinately improves the defence however he is hampered by the fact he will be partnered by jags and Williams. So in summary no chance overall. We are a lesser threat in my opinion. Arsenal have regressed so maybe slightly in them but we have by no means progressed on the rest by stock piling midfielders.

3. Absolutely. But on the wrong players in the wrong positions. We are horribly imbalanced which may have been rectified with a striker and a left sided centre half. Big hopes for vlasic to add some width and pace.

As Bruce Forsyth once said, 'goals win games'

We will struggle to score goals; crowd will get on the players backs; confidence will drop.

There is no spark in this side.

I'm inclined to agree, but I'm quietly optimistic that I'll be surprised at how well we do this season.

I'm struggling a bit because in general we've had a good window, a really good window but this last 2 weeks has really knocked the wind out of our sails. I fear we'll get to the end of the season comfortably 7th just a handful of points
off 4th asking our selves why we didn't sign that striker we so obviously needed at the start of the season.
It just feels like same old Everton and the manager being let down again.
