Summer Transfer Window 2017

Everyone is responsible this window. At the start of the window I thought our business dealings were very smart. We acted quickly to address certain areas. Then in July we sell Lukaku and I assumed the club had it all sorted and have been working on finding another striker. However, Koeman showed he had a hard on for Sigurdsson because no matter who we sign he is never happy to have enough. So we went ahead for his sake paid 45 M for another AM who wasn't even needed tbh. All this time everyone knew we still needed a striker. I am sure behind the scenes Walsh must have been doing his work.

Then came August and as the season started our non existent movement up front was obvious. We still were struggling to get any decent striker in. At the end of the window it was clear we were struggling and didn't manage to get anyone we were linked with.

Koeman looked up to the board as to help him out and they along with Walsh could not find us a fix resulting in an utter embarrassment for a club which is going to play 50+ games this season without a decent striker.

Koeman's fault is that he wanted to fill the team with no 10s. How jamming them all together will help us is beyond me. The De Bruynes, Hazards, Coutinho's and Eriksens won't stand for sh*te if they don't have Aguero, Costa/Morata, Firminho and Kane/Alli making runs in front of them.

Cant see any reports saying Dennis Adeniran signed for us...just that he was in talks...
I can't see any confirmation that we signed the teenager from Fulham which some where reporting done about 9pm last night? A young lad to go into the youth setup.

Everton have signed England U18 international midfielder Dennis Adeniran on a four-year deal.

The 18-year-old heads to Goodison Park on a deal until the summer of 2021 after making five senior appearances for the Sky Bet Championship club.

Including add-ons, Adeniran could end up costing Everton a fee of £4m, Sky Sports News understands.

Ok, i'll bite.

You can keep the kid, but I'll take a charity bet that they don't.
Ok but I don't believe in just handing money over to an organization. I'd request you spent a day serving your community in some way.

Let's say if they're both available (injury related) for 50%+ of the games this year, you game?

Also you realize league, fa, Europa, and the league cup count right?

Love your optimism but I think you're wide of the mark.

Pickford seems an improvement but it's still early days.
Keane and Williams are not an improvement on Jagielka and Distin. Or Jagielka and Lescott.
Baines is still there and getting worse (as much as I love him)
Bolasie over Pienaar - not for me.
Arteta would still walk into our current team. So would Cahill.
The CDM roles have seen an improvement I think.
The striker situation now is a joke.
So, I have to disagree with you. We're paying more but not sure how much progression we are seeing. We still can't beat the top teams away from home and invariably struggle to beat them at home.
We had a decent start to the window (with the Lukaku money now I have no doubt) but we really went all 'Everton' with Sigurdsson and that was evident again since his transfer.
Nothing has changed.

Errr yeah - its about getting better than the previous season. Cahill & Arteta left 6 or 7 years ago and even longer since Lescott left. 'Kanchelskis over Lennon for me' - yeah obvs.

Keane playing with either Jags or Williams is a big improvement on last season. Also Baines has started the season very well and looks like he's close to being back to his best, though I appreciate we have no cover for him. We've got a very, very good side and yes we need a striker but it'll soon be January and it's not like we've only got Marcus Bent as an option (and we finished 4th when that was the case)

Yes sounds fair to me.

30 goals between them in all competitions (for Everton) in minimum 50% of games, any split is fine. I hope you win!

That was a disappointing end to the window. Unless Koeman can create a system to replicate the old Dutch Total Football we're goosed. We have pace up front with Vlasic DCL Lookman Sandro & even Lennon. Problem is in midfield. We can't play Rooney up top. Him and Gylfi No. 10 & 8?. Then who? With all the MFs we have that is where we are weak because nobody can link up with the attack. We need movement and interchange between the front line and midfield. Vlasic and Sandro can do this but who goes the other way? Rooney can as can Gylfi, maybe Klaasen and Gueye can. But getting this installed and instilled into their minds and finding a system for it to work is going to be a challenge without having a target man to change things around. Your thoughts?

If he wasn't undroppable before he certainly is now (no matter what @BlueToff says). He's started well (Full disclosure - I thought he would be toss) but he's our main man now for dozens of games. Hope he doesn't run out of steam.

Well, if he's not locked up, then yeh, he's gonna have to start the majority of our games.

I'd imagine the only chance he'll get to be 'rested' will be the league cup/ the later Europa League games should we have secured points beforehand.

I've said it. It's very poor we didn't get a forward in at the least yesterday. A poor reflection of however/whoever is running the transfers after an initial shift in the mentality.
