Even top players have bad games mate. And if you read my post, I'm not saying bring in Maguire and van Dijk as a partnership, bring in van Dijk to go straight in and bring in someone like Maguire for competition.

Why not just bring in2 CB and let what we have be the competition

Well that would pretty much be a new spine for the team. One that could potentially be in place for a good 5 years.

My issue is even woth those signings we would still lack creativity. Maybe throw in the likes if rooney, ghezzel and sigurdsson and that would be a productive summer.

If we're bringing Rooney and Sigurdsson in, as seems likely and we're trying to buy Sandro, we're keeping Mirallas and Bolasie then that's 5 players capable of playing in the front 3 positions, plus you have Lukaku and Barkley - one or both of whom could end up staying yet, that doesn't really tally up with Koeman's comments about wanting a relatively small squad, supplemented by youngsters

There's so much talk about the transfers that I fully believe that Rooney, Sigurdsson, Sandro and Michael Keane are all very possible deals.

Think there's an awful lot of twists and turns yet though. Lukaku and Barkley are probably the key to a lot of what we'll end up doing
