Yet generally would be less agile.

Unless the keeper is about 5 foot it really doesn't matter as you get a trade off regardless of height. The dealing with high ball stuff has got nothing to do with height, they are allowed to use their hands... bravery and common sense would be the traits needed to deal with something like that.
See the hand of God for evidence. No way Shilton should've been beaten to it by a dumpy little Argentinian like Diego. Just too slow and not aggressive enough.

Broadly i just dont agree with you mate, the opinion is that all he can offer from is dead ball delivery just isnt correct he has vision and the technica ability to pick a pass and a key pass, spliting a defence of foundation for attack, it is correct to say he has good set piece or deadball delivery. But after watching him over many seasons and again the whole game Vs Sunderland today he is an out and out playmaker.

Its like saying Arteta and Baines were only good at set pieces which they were but there is far much more to his game to that. The only comparable players to him are all playing in the CL, which is where we aspire.

I would be interested to hear your opinion on wo would be a better or more desirable option as opposed to Siggy.

Think people are ignoring how well he's done at Swansea for the past few seasons due to the fact it never worked out for him at Spurs. It puts doubt on wether he would do it for us but that was a long time ago, a time where Spurs lost their best player in Bale and were in transition and bought the likes of Sigurdsson, Eriksen & Lamela to try and fill the void and it just didn't work out and Sigurdsson was the one to pay the consequences. Pochettino as since gone on record to say he regrets selling him!

But not all good players go the clubs they do and do well for each and every one of them. We've had plenty of players over the years after it hasn't worked out at other clubs. Pienaar was a star at Ajax, got a move to Dortmund and struggled. We signed him and he was top drawer. Arteta another, was really good for PSG & Rangers, went to the club he supports, Sociedad, and couldn't get a kick. We signed him and again he was class. Lukaku is another, Schneiderlin the same...

The boy Klaassen is a must buy IMO, I do like the boy Sigi and all depends if Barks stays, but would prefer Davy plus a different type of number 10, like for example a Mane/Valencia, the little whippet type...

Yeah, one of them gangsta' bishes...

Can we verify this please, seems like a bit of hyperbole to me i.e. the assists from open play.

Doesn't matter how he assists, open play, set pieces, if it's setting up goals to win us games then who cares?! At the end of the day, his general play is good, he's neat and tidy and can see a pass. He doesn't ball hog and barely makes a mistake, if any, and he's got that desire to get in and around the box and look to get a goal.

He definitely improves us and I'm glad Koeman is seriously keen!

Pochettino has come out and said it wasn't his choice to sell Sigurrdson and he would be in the Spurs team if he was still there. He actually did brilliantly at Spurs when given the opportunity his ratio of goals/assists per game is ridiculous.

He should be our no 1 target this summer bar none.

He also offers variance mate we don't have a player of his type. Many think of him as a winger, but he is more an inside forward, he can play right, left or centrally. He can also play as a no 1 if required. Given that our width come from fullback he is the perfect player for us.

Well I don't know about him playing down the right but either from the left or a central position he would be very handy for us. He's naturally an attacking CM/No.10 but this season he's been used wide left in a forward 3 and in general been brilliant and that versatility, along with his quality, definitely tempts Koeman.

Was mentioned on here ages ago. I can't find the original source. It's not a great stretch though - he has 33 assists in his PL career to date (13 this season) which means that he only had 20 going into this season. All that means is that at least 11 of those 20 assists were from set pieces.

An assist is an assist.

And as for all the doubters,Sigurdsson doesn't just provide assists. He creates space. He's lethal with and without the ball, and defenders in every team fear him. That opens space up for other players. With him in our team, not only do they need to worry about offense from the offense, but also offense from the defence. The type of underrated player that would narrow the gap between where we are now and being genuine title contenders.

Hmmmm, we'll have to agree to disagree here I think. Nobody in their right mind is going to say he isn't a good player. Just don't think he's good enough to justify some of the hype he's attracting from a lot of people on here. You do. Fair enough. I think there's a very good chance we're going to end up signing him, so I'll be made up if you're right and I'm wrong

If the original source ihasn't been verified mate and seems very dubious to say the least, so i don't think your assertion on his assists can be used as a fact due to the "I can't find it but someone posted it on Internet forum a while back" nature of what you assert.

Going by the figures you mention above excluding the 13 this season as you say, 50 % of his assists are from open play.

(I actually make it 36 career assists in the PL).

If Barkley does leave & siggurdson signs people need to give the lad a chance it's not his fault.

I've been sceptical of siggursdon however he is still a class player & set pieces assists count as 1 goal same as an assist taking the whole team on twice then passing to a teammate with an empty net to score.

If we can replace our entire defence & goalie siggurdson's set pieces will get us numerous 1 nil wins.

He can solve the keeper problem as well? Get him in Bill FFS
