IMO DCL is not ready for the first team, he might be highly rated, but I'd think a years loan in the championship will be more beneficial to him. Abraham is totally unproven in the premiership, but in the future he might be seen as a replacement for lukaku but not now. I'm not even going to discuss the thought of troy Deeney as a replacement for rom.

Go on give it a try
You never know you might convince someone

He scored key goals at key times which is hard to replace.

Even if he did, which is debatable, he also went missing for vast periods of most games which cost us momentum in key games.

That's why we have the leagues leading goalscorer, yet we're 7th. It's not because the squad is poor - it's because everything breaks down in the final third far too often because we can't make the ball stick there, and we don't have good movement.

We are 7th because we have no support for the leagues leading scorer. Compare Kane similar age and goals to lukaku, but then they have Ali and Erikson and are in double figures for goals and the amount of assists they have. Look at those stats and compare them to miralles and Barkley. It's like night and day. I've no doubt if lukaku was playing in Spurs' team he'd have 30 + goals with the service he'd get.

Exactly
Which is why Koeman doesn't seem to be too arsed if ROSS goes or stays
He obviously has players in mind to replace him and stand in for Bolassie who he feels will contribute more assists and goals.
Of course Chelsea would like Lukaku for the league games
He would run amok with Pedro Hazard Fabregas etc around him but I doubt he would do it in the big European nights

I'll turn that on its head; we're 7th because the league's leading scorer offers no support for his teammates in attack. Doesn't move into channels often enough, doesn't show for the ball with his back to goal and so on.

He couldn't get the goals if he had no service, so that argument dies a death - yet supporting players can't get forward to join attacks and get beyond the striker if the striker has no interest in adapting his game to bring them into the attacking phase.

He's the top scorer in the league
He has broken all sorts of scoring record at his different ages and you want him to adapt his game to suit his teammates
Here's a novel idea , why don't we make his teammates play to his strengths and let him score more goals and create more chances.
I think that's what Koeman has in mind judging by the players we are linked with

Stats don't always paint a true picture, but only Sanchez on that list has assisted more.
