I'd take Iheanacho if the rumours are true that he's available for 20 million. Reminds me of Sturridge when the RS took a chance on him. Better fitness though.

I like Iheanacho but what kind of striker would people say he is? Is he an outright CF? Second striker? Wide forward? I really don't know? He's decent mind, quick, technically good, can finish so I'm sure he would fit in well with us. But that's if we are interested or not?

Ok. Let's say those three cost us sixty million leaving 30 to spend elsewhere.

Choosing players who would come to us, would all score at least 10, who would you get?
We won't get anybody who will come to us to replace Roms goals.
As was pointed out earlier very few teams in the history of the PL have had 3 players in the side who regularly scored 10 plus goals a season
United may have done it in their prime but very few if any others have

..yep, he's been great and exactly what we've needed after so many barren years. He's a top finisher in any age in any league but he'll be off and we need to prepare for life beyond him. It's a major challenge replacing him and it is possible we could improve as a team with a different 'type' up front but ultimately it will be down to skill in the transfer market and RKs team model. Only time will tell.
It is a big ask, as you say to replace him. I can't think of many teams in the recent era that have improved since they sold their top goalscorer. RK and SW will have their work cut out.

But you are still replacing a 24 goal a season striker with someone who will score 10/11
Take Mirallas out and you will miss what he brings to the team
Take ROSS out and you will miss what he brings
Instead of replacing Rom why not build a unit around him as Roberto and Koeman wanted to do
Koeman does. Unfortunately lukaku doesn't want to be here.

I doubt he will go this year
That's why Koeman seems to want to buy players to suit his style and who can chip in with a few goals as well
If and when he goes Koeman will have 2 choices
Either spend all the fee on a like for like replacement ( if they will sign for us ) or tear up the plan and start from scratch.
That's why the targets we are supposedly looking at up front are relatively cheap
they are to compliment Rom not replace him

Has she, not heard that. Maybe she is gonna force the issue and get him to move? By all accounts he wants a crack at the prem before he hangs up his boots?! Would love him at us.

yeah was reported in the Italian and Belgium media a whilst back, hence the reason he hasn't signed a new contract as well and wants that release clause etc

All I know is if your striker is the league's leading scorer, then striker is not a problem position for your team.

...I agree but it's not the be all and end all. We won the league in '85 scoring goals from different areas. We signed Lineker who was outstanding, scoring 40+ goals but we won nothing. Lineker left after one season and we won the league again.

Lukaku is brilliant at what he does but it is possible to progress without the top scorer. It's now down to the manager to deliver his team model to see if it makes us better.

Because he's a CF and won't get into the side ahead of Lukaku
Sandro is a wide player although not an out and out winger according to the experts on here
So he'd play on the right of a front 3
With a GK
1 if not 2 CB needed
Possibly cover at FB
CAM
and 2/3 more attacking options needed
I doubt very much if the club/Koeman will spend 20 million on a player to start on the bench.
That's one of Walsh's main roles , to find cheap rough diamonds to eventually make their way into the first team ,like Vardy

Naa mate, he's a CF. no doubt though that if we bought him he'd end up playing anywhere across the striker/attacking mid positions....
