Eto's issue was slightly different that he thought he was doing Everton a big favour by playing here, but imo never had the ability anymore to back up his ego.
I think Rooney wouldn't come with that attitude, but he would honestly stink the place out nowadays.

If people think the fans get on Barkleys back at the minute, wait till Rooney pulls on that shirt. He's absolute dog turd and should really think about hanging up his boots, or playing in Scotland if they'd have him. He can't cut it in the Prem anymore from what my eyes see.
Really?! Only John Terry has a bigger narcissistic ego problem than Rooney of the players of the "golden generation". He will definitely be of the opinion that he is doing us a favour and will chuck his toys out of the pram at the first sign of bother. Vault me.

But he's crap and has been for years.
What other crap players with big reputations should we bring in? Eto worked out well.....
Whilst your point is valid, your example is way off the mark. Eto'o was very good every time he played for us - his downfall was speaking out against RM's woeful tactics.

Better examples to prove your point would have been Gascoigne and Ginola.

We will get a golden few months from the boy, much fanfare, many words about how hes not finished and he has something to prove yada, yada, yada, maybe even a goal at Anfield and of course on his return to Old Trafford, but then the injuries will hit and we will be left with the busted flush of a footballer thats currently stinking the place out at Utd.

Indeed - looked a class above everyone else, even though his legs had gone.

Give you the better examples . I was just using the most recent after a season where we finished on 72 points and expected to kick on.

Eto was massively on the decline when we signed him imo.

Reckon gerrard had the biggest ego to be fair... also think it was his opionion of himself that was the main reason he achieved what he did

So ive had a look at the squad, ive done the math, studied the figures and im able to finally publish the revised Ins and Outs for the upcoming transfer window.

The following players will NOT be issued a locker and should clear out their current locker 1 hour after the coach returns from London sometime on Sunday night :

Joel Robles 5-8m
Phil Jagielka FREE
James McCarthy 14-18m
Gareth Barry NOM
Donkey Mori 10-15m
Gerrard OMG MY LUNGS HAVE EXPLODED 12m
The Clev 8m
Niasse 8-10m
McGeady 1-2m

We will then be requiring bodies in the following roles :

1 First Choice GK 20-25m
Current choice remains the boy Pickford, im not as Anti-Kasper as certain people and think hes a really good Keeper, so he would be my current "fallback"

1 Left Back, who could MAYBE play Right Back at a pinch 10-15m
TBA

2 First Choice CBs 50-70m
Only VVD fits the profile within the League, but hes very unlikely

1 Number 8, with la magica in his boots 25-30m
TBA

1 Number 10/SS 30m+
TBA

1/2 Wingers/Wing Forwards 20m+
TBA

1 Strikers 30-40m
TBA

The above is maintaining a misguided assumption of us retaining Barks and Rom, those players will of course need replacing.

After the last ball is kicked tomorrow, my best team will be scouting the world trying to tie down the best talent for this football club, my team doesnt have a gold card at Travel Lodge, but know that they are the best in the business and that we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of excellence.

So we're spending £150+million this summer?

We will not spend half of that. Stadium money is required.
