Summer Transfer Window 2017

Just shows how we need to up her game, massivley.

That was from 2015/16 Pabbers.

Since then, we've added Schneiderlin (90-100k), Bolasie (at least 70k), Williams (at least 50k) and Gueye etc. plus offered bumper deals to Rom and Ross and improved Coleman's etc.

Lukaku scored a whopper last year, Barkley in 2013/2014. Don't think he's the worst free kick taker we've had, but I reckon he averages one a season?

i have a theory on something like this.
I always think you should have 1 set peice taker and leave it at that.
I hate the way we chop and change who takes free kicks, corners etc.
From experience it takes a few times to get your range and feel for it in a game, if you get one free kick, hit the wall, then somemone else is like "you missed that so im on the next one" you dont have the opportunity to hone in on your skill set.
Plus you dont have anyone breathing down your neck having a moan that they feel that they want the kick.
Look at some of the best set piece takers over the last season or so.
Sigurdsson - takes everything at Swansea (no mirallas, or lukaku breathing down his neck to take the next one)
Snodgrass - took everything at Hull same as Sigi, moves to west ham, shares them with Noble & Cresswell, is far less affective.
Payet - didn't share set pieces with Noble and Cresswell last year and banged them in everywere.

Coutinho & Willian have similar concepts at liverpool and chelsea, if they are on the pitch they take everything, no questions asked.

This changed for Baines in Martinez's first year, no control and no discipline towards the other players meant anyone would take one. While we had some success with a barkley free kick and a couple from mirallas. Baines has always been by far the best set piece taker in our side and should be on everything

What I thought the latest development was that he cheated on her. I should try and keep up. Yesterday she was present at the gala for the Belgian Jupiler Pro League Footballer of the year (Tielemans won) without him so I think it's over. Maybe she got a picture with Martinez.

They confirmed btw that Tielemans is doing his medical today/tomorrow in Monaco.

Oh Dendoncker seems to want out btw (https://m.hln.be/sport/voetbal/belg...mann-60-kans-dat-ik-naar-man-utd-ga~a7da2d60/ ) , the Anderlecht manager confirmed that they'll receive multiple bids from European top clubs but that they'll try and keep him but that they don't want an argument with the player. Man U seems to want him as the Carrick (Michael) successor.

Aye mate, think the rumours where that he did - she found out and she gave him an ultimatum and forced the issue by moving back to Belgium (guessing if he stays then he made the choice like). IF he didn't then her massive U-Turn on being mad about Italy to packing bags and going back to Belgium makes little sense.

Will see this summer if it worked, I know according to all the reports the problem with his renewal stems over him wanting a release clause - so maybe if he does want out but in a way that saves the club face in them being not able to stop the sale etc.

As for Dendoncker - would love us to go for him, reckon for United he is their second choice if they fail to get hold of Dier who apparently they really want...

Good move for Tielemans, expect he will be one of those in a couple of years time that Monaco sell on for a huge profit

We'll be losing lots of players this summer which frees up *substantial* wages - one of Stekelenburg/Robles will hopefully go, same for Jagielka/Williams, Deulofeu will go, Kone is off, Cleverley is already gone, Niasse hopefully leaving too, and McGeady, possibly one of McCarthy/Besic, hopefully Valencia heading back to West Ham..... not unrealistic I'd say to suggest around £350k per week would be saved by seeing the back of those above.

Spurs wage bill has jumped up massively and they have moved considerably above us since those figures as well, practically their entire first team has renewed over the last 12 months

How many times do I have to say open play? Most of Sigurdsson's assists and goals are from dead ball situations.
We understand your point, but perhaps a few of us think we could do with some scoring from dead ball situations. Maybe his assist tally goes down without Llorente, but our team has about zero chance to score from a dead ball situation currently.

Also, I don't think his open play is as poor as many say.

Why on earth would Swansea sell their best player for £25m to a club that spent £28m on Bolasie. They will ask for £40m minimum... if they ask at all.
We need him to put in a transfer request really to make their position less comfortable. Right now they don't need to sell and can hold out, but if he makes it clear he wants to leave they'll likely be willing to negotiate and he'll leave much quicker.

Bolasie wasn't £28m.

I don't know how many times I've had to say this over the season haha.

But yeh, agree in principle. They'll demand an extortionate fee to any side, as they have every right to.

Meanwhile on another planet players are being slaughtered for refusing to sign new contracts or for putting in transfer requests
