If we brought neres in then Bernard will have to either up his game or become a bench warmer.

The whole point of recruitment for me is to bring in players who will improve our starting 11 and push our seasons before starting 11 to the bench. Or young players for the future of course.
I agree with the second part of your post, its the way to go.
The first part however is car park territory lol

There's still the question mark over his third party owner Doyen Sports. Porto still owe them E6.5m. It could hold up the transfer if they refuse to pay it and we may need to cough up if we want to buy him.

Is he even that good anyway?

Not good

Well, quite but no one is denying that. The point you made was you didn't like that if we brought neres in it would force Bernard onto the bench.

The team will not suffer by having more quality in it. According to alot of media reports a left footed winger is a priority this window but that doesn't mean the rest of the holes in the squad will be ignored.

I was more bothered about Richarlison up front than dropping Bernard.

But you don't play the same 11 every game. We tried to last season because the options from the bench were terrible but when do you see the likes of City or Real play the same 11 game after game? You don't. They have different players to suit different tactics for each game. Signing Neres would not mean Bernard is suddenly resigned to the bench for every game.

Because all those players are going to play every game in the same position aren't they Nymz?.

I'm surprised at this post mate. I thought you had a better understanding of the need for a good squad. We need an absolute minimum of 4 quality players to cover the front three positions, with 2 or 3 younger players with potential to provide back up. At the moment we have 2 quality players in Bernard and Richarlison, and 2 younger players in DCL and Lookman. Henry could be added to the latter if we were able to obtain a work permit. That leaves us short of 2 quality players, a striker and a left footed wideman.

There will be plenty of game time to go around the 4 of them to keep them all more than happy. Injuries and cup games will provide opportunities for the younger lads, but the chances are at least 2 of the 3 will be on the bench for all league games anyway.

Why’s it surprising to not want Richarlison to play upfront? lol

Indeed it was, great shout.

There`s always be some other team for the cry arse doom and gloom merchants to try and use as a stick to beat the club with.

To be fair to our fans, it seems to be the likes of Toon and hammers fans, saints fans, watford etc every year one of them seems to think they've over taken us or have suddenly become bigger clubs than us, it's weird but it doesn't start with our fans, most of it comes from twitter and imaginary rivalries are born.

Seemingly Silva said in an interview on Portuguese TV that we are signing 5 new players.
A winger ,a striker ,a RB a CM and a CB.
Zouma and Gomes were 2 of those players

Nah, there`s a " select few " on here who are just itching every season to start wailing like Greek Widows, the moment teams like West Ham start throwing money around.

I don`t think they go outside much.
