I just don’t remember him saying anything with the Spurs mishap and I think that got to me but there’s other little examples like holding the ball until the opposing striker is a stride away from him.

And yes to be fair I am basing it off that last season stoke was in the prem. I thought he was exceptional that season

Maybe because he was going to clear it until Zouma ran into him.

Butland since coming back from injury has been a shadow of the prospect he was, i dont know if its down to losing abit of agility or a worry to commit himslef incase of injury.
But he was poor in the Prem for Stoke too

Surely holiday coming to an end now we start moving these players on.

Back in training in two weeks and at the moment there’s a strange selection turning up

I don’t know why we keep hold of some of these players for so long. Mcaleny Baxter Evans (think he is still with us) we kept for far too long after it was clear they weren’t going to play first team for us.

There’s players we’ve spent money on recently for the U23s like Markalengo, Adeniran, Gibson, Sambou, Ouzonidis. Surely this was with a view to them making the step into the first team after a transition period in the U-23s but some of have been there a season or two now and are absolutely nowhere near the first team.

Seems we have the business model back to front. Should be selling our academy players that don’t make it, not buying in ones that then don’t make it.

The 5th Turtle?

If we sign Neres that’s means Rich is back up front and I just don’t rate him much in that position.

Although Bernard, Richarlison & Neres is a sexy forward 3.
Because all those players are going to play every game in the same position aren't they Nymz?.

I'm surprised at this post mate. I thought you had a better understanding of the need for a good squad. We need an absolute minimum of 4 quality players to cover the front three positions, with 2 or 3 younger players with potential to provide back up. At the moment we have 2 quality players in Bernard and Richarlison, and 2 younger players in DCL and Lookman. Henry could be added to the latter if we were able to obtain a work permit. That leaves us short of 2 quality players, a striker and a left footed wideman.

There will be plenty of game time to go around the 4 of them to keep them all more than happy. Injuries and cup games will provide opportunities for the younger lads, but the chances are at least 2 of the 3 will be on the bench for all league games anyway.

Think we may end up signing Meunier tbh. Utd all in for AWB and Arsenal who are supposedly the other team are spending a chunk on Saliba (around €30 mill) anf supposedly close to Alexis Claude Maurice. Cant see them spending £20 mill on another RB when they have more pressing positions and not much money

Neres will cost too much money for a position that isn't a priority, I know Silva wants a leftie but this guy would cost way too much when we still only have DCL up front.

Brahimi out of contract shortly? Maybe it’s a goer
There's still the question mark over his third party owner Doyen Sports. Porto still owe them E6.5m. It could hold up the transfer if they refuse to pay it and we may need to cough up if we want to buy him.

Is he even that good anyway?
