Very well-written. I don't know much about several of the players mentioned, but the logic behind the approach is definitely sound: there's no point buying older players in the first year or two of a rebuild, because by the time you've overhauled the squad properly (minimum three summer windows) some of your expensive 29 and 30 year-olds from your first window are on the wane and have no resale value.

Lascelles was the player we should have bought instead of Keane, and if they were roughly the same price I'd have Lascelles instead of Zouma this summer.

We aren't selling Pickford lads, no matter how many times you post it in capital letters.

He was a £25m investment and given a 6 year contract after his first year here. He is going to have to stoop to literal Karius levels of terrible before we even think about selling him.

I do think we will sign a competitive back up for next season though (if the club thinks it's too soon for Virginia).

Pickford? Moving on? Mate the way he’s going he’s not going anywhere and we will be loaning him out to try and and offset his massive wages. He’s going to be the gk version of sandro and bolasie etc
Disagree he will come good just needs to sort his head out. You'd be surprised I could see a Tottenham or Man U bidding for him at some stage

Good Lord where do we get the cash for that lot? Some good suggestions just wondered.

6 signings, most expensive would be Fernandes (by a mile) so maybe Gomes instead of him. 2 from the Belgium league, one a backup at Spurs, one a kid from Villarreal that has only just broken through, Sarr would be pricey. Isn't too much... but still aint happening. I just had a dream we had a good side.

Do we need another No 10
Siggy Vlasic already here
RF CB RW Striker CM are more pressing needs
Plus he looks a little lightweight
Seems to play winger more than a 10 role. And what about the tackles he rides out says lightweight at all. Not every player was blessed to have been born with the physique of Troy Deeney.
