I just don't get why we would willingly sell a 22 year old to Bayern Munich for that price. I understand he hasn't played for us but BAYERN think he's good enough for their side. Is that not enough to say he should at least get a chance in ours?

If it's true of course.
I think the main issue is the inability to obtain a work permit. I note that currently there appears to have been no renewed attempt to gain one which could suggest we have accepted there is still little chance of success.
There is also the fact that although he appears to be a potentially very good player , he still may not be a player who fits Silva’s specific requirements , he was after all purchased by a previous regime.
Finally the player himself may be frustrated with the situation and it would surely be unfair to stand in the way of him playing for one of Europe’s top clubs in those circumstances.
On the plus side we may get money to spend on a player who better suits our manager and who we can actually get into the country.

He probably is worth the risk of not accepting that (reported) offer when you consider his age and goalscoring record. He has very a valuable asset in that not only is he utterly rapid but he can also put it in the net. If he proves it in a top league that value soars. We'd still make a healthy profit on him if he doesn't quite cut it in this league, might not be a 35 mil fee but still a profit. If Bayern are apparently willing to shell out on you it is a good indicator of talent like, think Renato Sanches is really the only big money flop they've had in the last 10 or so years.

It’s not that long ago that they blurted a load of money to sign Renato Sanchez, who stunk the gaff out at Swansea. They don’t always get it right.

If we think it’s a good deal, we’ll take it.

No they don't but I don't think it takes much research to find that it's a lot better record than ours.

If he can't get a work permit then sell but I think they are waiting until post AFCON on purpose.

....i’d be very surprised if Brands/Silva haven’t been watching him closely. Silva will only insist on a look if he likes what he sees.

He was on the list from reknowned ITK blert EFC_Insider as our primary LW addition to the squad this summer.

If let's say we did get €35m for Onyekuru that's a great deal for someone who's never played for us and that could go a long way to a fee for Neres. We can only have so many wingers so I've a feeling Henry will leave if we're looking elsewhere unless Lookman and Walcott are both sold which I don't see happening this summer. Quality in depth is great to have but Onyekuru doesn't seem the type to come in and be 3rd or even 4th choice here.

Is there even a decision to be made here? By all accounts he won't get a permit even if he plays for all of the afcon, so this window is the best chance to sell with his contract running down. Dissapointed that we will never get to see him but can't fault the club for selling. Insert a sell-on so we get a piece if he blows up and move on

Why is everyone getting so animated about a seemingly ropey twitter report about Bayern wanting Henry? Is that what happens now? One random tweet is all it takes to get everyone het up?

Bayern aren’t shy about talking about their targets. If they really wanted Henry we’d know about it from someone other than a shady twitter account.

Its amazing the fume on here, of the likelihood of us selling 3 wingers, who have played a grand total of 2700 minutes combined for the club in all competitions, for what is reported to be a total fee of around 70 million, or a 40+ million profit.

I shudder to think what will happen if we actually sell any players who have made meaningful contributions to regular football here.

Just wait until Gueye goes. It'll be utter carnage again.

Not bothered who we sell if Brands is doing the selling. Onyekuru is unlikely to ever play for us, so any profit is a bonus, likewise Vlasic, who we're set to make about another 50% on. Fine by me. Same applies to Lookman too. He's made about 3 dribbles and scored once since arriving and has never looked even remotely arsed. As long as they go for profits, which I'm sure they all will, then why worry? Who we replace them with is the big issue, and I'm sure we have our targets and will bring in better quality.
