Both England internationals who were first choice at a World Cup. Baines holds premier league record for assists as a defender. Both of them over 10 years spent in a top half premier league team that has played in Europe. Both could have left at various points to teams where they probably would have won trophies. Both have had careers most players could only dream of. Only the very very best play for mega clubs picking up trophies. Hardly fair to call them career failures.

If im not mistaken there were rumours he was off at the end of the season not too long ago...but his agent said he would be seeing out his contract.

Offers were turned down for them, one for Jags from Arsenal and one for Baines from United.

They just didn't make a fuss or disrepespect the club, both probably wanted to leave and both certainly would have left had the offers been accepted.

To say they are career failures or that they had no ambition is a ridiculous statement. Not only have they been great servants for us, they have been (especially at their peaks) two of the best players in their position in the league.
