To be fair mate, if you go back I was saying it at the time

You rate Scottish footy and Shane Duffy, so I think you see things differently to the rest of the world ;)

As with any player who gets a really serious injury one would wonder how their career would have developed if the injury had not occurred.

Before his injury I thought he was doing reasonably well in a team that wasn't doing well at all.
The injury seems to have finished him as a player at a high level of football.
I think you're getting confused about the seasons there mate. At the time he got injured we were 7th in the league, just about the highest we've been in the last 5 years.

You're not necessarily wrong about the team though, we didn't look great. Bolasie was performing dreadfully in the main but had managed to get himself a few assists for Lukaku, partly because Koeman's go to tactic was to get the ball wide right for him to sling balls in to the middle. Once he got injured we actually started to play some football and mix it up a bit, resulting in us looking a lot better.

That really came out of leftfield for sure. There's a case to be made that we never really got a chance to see Bolasie, not that I'm sure it would have made a difference. But Sandro is the inanimate carbon rod of football

Considering the man would`ve more than likely bankrupted the club and possibly relegated us, it`s an astonishing shout.

I mean what next - " Given time Koeman would`ve won us the league " lol

So we ruined the transfer window last summer by buying Richarlson for 45 million.. United have just bid 70 million for an average defender and somehow the media are jizzing themselves.

I think Merson was just annoyed that we’d got a good player rather than one of the top 6 regardless of the price. If Arsenal has paid 35 mill for Richarlison he would have been calling it a top deal.

I think Walsh gets a bad press to be honest, i think i he really had an eye for a player and im not wholly disappointed with what he brought in i put more of our signing madness down to Koeman and when you look at some of our transfers they smack of back scathing with some of Koemans old associates. Walsh was mild mannered, Koeman arrogant and stubborn it was a poor relationship and in the end i think everyone got someone including Bill, but with Zero congruence.

I think Walsh's recruitment will yield profit over all, not so Koemans, Walsh was also very good at shifting players out for fees in my opinion and getting rid of dead wood.

Id put Sandro down as Walsh buy though, he got that one wrong, still i wouldn't be surprised if the lad goes on to have a good career elsewhere.

Exhibit A.

Merson even for him said some very strange things about Everton at different times last season, Gomes, digne, them been average and so on

Honestly he used to be very complementary about us but that all changed when we binned of Allardyce. He’s mates with all those pundits which is how he cultivates his little saviour cult of personality (which is a load of Bollards).

He played left mid as much as striker. Similar position to Bernard.

Again, do you know how Sociedad uses their striker or how they play tactically? It does matter.

Real sociedad played 42 games last season sandro started 11 games and was a substitute in 15 he played a grand total of 1241 minutes. The equivalent of 13 full games out of 42. His starts he played as a striker 6 times out of 11, 4 more then any other position.

His best stat for sociedad was his shots on target 1.8pg his second highest stat was his bad touches 1.5pg his third was being fouled 1pg. All his other stats are under 0.9pg his pass% is alright (78.1%)untill you see how man passes he makes a game (14.1).

In all of the 27 games he played last season do you know how many times he was directly involved in a goal? Once and it was a assist for everton in the leauge cup against Rotherham.

So, yes. I think we are all well within our right to say he had a very poor season and is crap.
