Roy Keane never did things off the pitch that made people think boy is he a douche.
He walked out of the world cup I've never forgiven him for that, we ended up getting knocked out on penalty shootout to Spain, we'd have beaten them if Keane was there. Potential semi final or final that year, Keane at the time was one of if not the most influential player in the world. Referees and players both respected and feared him which gave Ireland a massive boost in games.

I'd still be interested in having Ross back though if they'd be willing to loan him for a season

Lampard may actually have plans for him though, so you never know

He'd be perfect cover in the midfield and you could even possibly play him in front 3 as well if needs be

Would give us a creative option to call on and I think Silva would definitely be able to get the best out of him

Interestingly enough, Mick McCarthy himself has said that if Keane stayed they probably wouldn't have gotten out of the Group as he just wasn't mentally right

I personally think that, so long as we get Zouma/a defender of equal ability, we should be fine in defense

I get the calls for another right back, but to me I think Zouma, Mina, Keane and Feeney are enough options at CB that we can give the job of back up RB to Holgate
Defence was fine last season apart from that whole being horrible at defending set plays which looked to have been sorted by seasons end. 14 clean sheets was 4th best in the league, you'd expect to add 4 or 5 more if the set play defence is sorted. We struggled for goals that was our main issue.

No Neres, Costa, Malcom, or Traore

one of the consistent name left is Rafael Leao, a Portuguese player originally from Sporting's academy , was in the u17 while Marco was managing there
It's never too late for Troy....
