You do realize that every single sport has had an attitude that statistics don't mean anything and eventually the teams using stats the best have become the best teams. It happened in baseball, then basketball and now the NFL too. Maybe football is the one sport that numbers can't touch, but I doubt it.
Only stat that matters in football is how much money you’ve got.

Every single sport had the same attitude. Not one thought using stats to analyze things would work. They were all special and above it. All I'm saying is it wouldn't be surprising to see it again.

Football uses stats. It's not new. In fact, it's so old Fat Sam and Moyes pioneered it at one point. The Blues were possibly the first team to use the Champ Man database.

It's just not everything. Football is a much more complex game that baseball, basketball etc

I think the bold part is actually correct, Ralf Rangnick has been running RBL for the past 7 years, and is still in charge there. It only looks a little odd on paper because it appeared he dipped for a year or two, but that was actually just to become manager of the team when they were between managers.

No mate he's left the club as of 1st July

Spurs did it not very long ago. I think they had the youngest average XI when they made CL (if not it was close). Good players are good players.
Smart purchases and getting lucky with a once in a lifetime player in Kane. I agree it’s the model to follow however it isn’t an ABC thing

I know. Spurs had huge slices of luck as Bale's sale gave them the money to purchase elite talents like Vertonghen and Eriksen too. But really that's all we can look at as we arent outspending the likes of City and United.

Which just means it needs more complex analysis which is being developed. I'm pretty sure the stuff Sam and Moyes used will be outdone by newer metrics in time.

I’d be aiming for a set strategy. Strong first XI replace players as needed and buy 1-2 a season keep good competition keenincomings to 3 odd a season

So he's adding another team to their empire in Brazil? I guess that's good but I feel like he has a lot of value as a manager/DOF.

No no, the Brazil umbrella club was already there he’s just overseeing them and NYRB more to try produce more players for Leipzig instead of always having to buy in young talents. Be interesting but no doubts it’ll work. Discussion for a thread in World Football mind.

I genuinely don't know what Harvey Barnes has done to even suggest he's the same calibre as Bernard.

Bernard loses the ball more often, has fewer shots per game and fewer successful crosses per game than Barnes.

He has 2 goals and 3 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions. At 26. Barnes has 10 goals and 8 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions. At 21. He was called back to Leicester after being one of the best players in the Championship and continued that form in the Prem in the 2nd half of the season.

Personal preference, I'd rather take a chance on a kid who I think will play for England, as opposed to Bernard who's ceiling (in my opinion) isn't too far from where he is now.

By all comps you mean the championship, as if that's the same

just imagine Bernard playing in the championship, not a single defender in that league would be able to get remotely close to him
