If he added 5 goals to his tally of 6 league goals last season, he'd be scoring at the same rate as Rondon and Mitrovic did last season.

Unless Richarlison and Bernard can get 30 goals between them, that's still not good enough for me.

Ok, well he got 8 in total, so if he got to around 15, thats good growth. Plus, he didnt exacly play all season did he ??

For me, if we signed Kean....what would we expect a 19 year old, new to the league striker to score ?? 10 maybe ?? Well People are going mad about our own striker scoring that many.

I would like Kean, but he does not walk straight in, so maybe he is a good option, who knows.

But this mythical 20 goal a season striker....nah, wont happen. Top scorer in league got 21. More to top teams than 1 top scorer.

Really surprised that so many people's heads are falling off. We've signed 3 players, one of whom is a new addition to the first team squad.

Of the teams that finished above and are vaguely within reach (i.e. not Liverpool and City), only United have improved.
- Chelsea signed Kovacic and Pulisic (but lost Hazard ffs)
- Spurs have signed a 17 year old and an 18 year old
- Arsenal have signed an 18 year old
- United have done a fair bit of business and will be stronger
- Wolves have signed two players that were on loan at the club last season and two youngsters

People need to calm down, absolute madness some of the crap dave and others are spewing

Great post. Davek just loves arguing the toss with people and “undercover” fans from another club love getting on board thinking they’re clever.

Spurs have signed NDombele one of the best midfield talents in Europe.
United - wan Bissaka good signing and James from the championship is hardly going to get them pushing for the top 4 thank goodness.

to be fair

-Chelsea are under a transfer ban
- spurs have signed that ndomble for like 60 mill? so incorrect
- Arsenal seemingly done a deal for that ceballos from Madrid? but do agree they haven't massively improved that terrible defence
- united done some decent business with wan-bissaka
-wolves, weird one because they are a team that use basically the same players everygame if they can so wouldn't expect any major from them ( just to have a bigger squad for the Europa I imagine )

Yeah, that'd be amazing growth. But is it realistic? To expect him to essentially double his output?

Also, top scorer in the league got 22 but that's the fewest goals for the league's top scorer in almost a decade. The average for the league's top scorer over the last decade is 27.

As a bare minimum, a starting CF at a top six club needs to clear 15 league goals (unless there is a significant contribution of goals from out wide and / or midfield)

In other words, unless DCL can smash 15 league goals in next season (or we trust Richarlison, Sigurdsson and Bernard to contribute 40 goals between them) then we'll need a new centre forward that is capable of those numbers.

That's not a dig at DCL by the way, I just don't think he can do that.

I think Zouma is not gonna move now, but if he doesn't play, might be available in January. Think we should loan someone instead of buying if we can. I'm not sure who would be available though. If not try and buy someone relatively low risk in terms of cost. Maybe Soumaoro, he nearly moved to Monaco for €13m, which would be very cheap in todays market.

Think we will get a striker in as well, either Kean or Leao. Then maybe a replacent for Gana of he goes.

I dont think we will get a winger in unless we sell both Onyekuru and Lookman. I don't think we will get a RB either, unless it's on loan, Arias may be available as Athletico now have Trippier.

Well he averaged around 50 mins per game playing time, so you would think just by almost doubling his game time he would double the goals. But factor in his improvement, and by what we seen last season, its highly likely he will improve again.

(unless there is a significant contribution of goals from out wide and / or midfield) = Thats excatly what we will have, and IMO adding a Malcom tytpe will ada another player capable of goals. Richarlison, Gylfi, Malcom type, Bernard, Theo = 40 - 45 goals alone.

we'll need a new centre forward that is capable of those numbers. - Not 1 name we are linked with is capable of that, as they have never done it. So in reality, we are bringing in a player who need groth and time to develop....which is same as Dom.

Now, unless we can get Icardi, than I dont see the solution in the market.

When it comes to getting another wide player Onyekuru is irrelevant, as he wouldn’t be here anyway. With lookman, mirallas abd bolasie going. We will definitely be buying a wide player.

Zouma is in a tricky spot as he has a long deal, if he doesn’t get regular football he will almost certainly miss out on the Euros next summer. And I think even if they wanted to sell, his price would be to high. Will be interesting to see how his next couple of season go.
