Basically this.

Why people cannot understand is beyond me
It’s so simple
Probably because it’s what everyone says will happen every window and it very rarely does, but people still pretend that anyone showing the slightest bit of concern is massively overreacting. At a guess.

No, I don't I'm afraid. You could apply the same logic to Tosun.

Tosun averaged a goal or assist every 175 minutes in his 1226 minutes last season. DCL averaged a goal or assist every 179 minutes in his 1974 minutes last season.

I don't think either are particularly good enough for where we aspire to be. They are possibly good enough for where we are now. DCL will improve as he matures (though it's important to forget, he's not a kid anymore - he's 23 this season) but I don't believe it's realistic to expect him to double his output.

If you compare them with the likes of Chicharito (G/A every 143 mins), Andre Gray (G/A every 138 mins) and Danny Ings (G/A every 159 mins) who all played fewer minutes too, and none of whom are good enough for where we aspire to be either.

How many of the above are 21?

In general they are though. Until the window is closed or players are bought or sold it is absolutely pointless getting upset. As we have seen for years, business gets done late in the window and more often than not (especially recently) we do well and end up better off.

As a an optimist, people who ignore all this and chose to cry before the event are just asking for it.

What does that matter? The argument was that, given more minutes he will score more goals. That same logic can be applied to many strikers such as those I mentioned who were more effective than DCL, including Tosun.

In any case Calvert Lewin isn’t 21. He’ll be 23 this season. That’s not old but it isn’t young for a Footballer either. He’s had two full seasons with 40+ appearances. He’ll inevitably get better as he matures, but I don’t think he is capable of doubling his output.

You seemingly do, that’s fine.
