Just putting some numbers behind Augustin; he’s actually a really promising player and one I wouldn’t want to lose personally from RBL.

However... he last completed 90 mins in the league on the 20th October. Of the 20 league games played since then:

2 not in the squad
8 never came off the bench
10 came off the bench for a total of 86 mins

Never going to start over Werner & Poulsen whilst Cunha has jumped ahead of him. Will 100% be available in the Summer (unless Nagelsmann gets a big say) and only cost them £14m so guaranteed profit.

RB Salzburg have two young strikers to replace for the 4th striker role.

They wanted £38m+ just a couple of months back so who knows. Likely for less but over £25m. No real rush to sell him so they’re not going to get bent over.

He has options with Champions League credentials who he may move to plus he hasn't played a second of football for us.

Personally I would like him, Vlasic and Lookman to be the alternative options to Bernard, Sigurdsson and Richardson

Good post but this change no matter how bad we want it to be will never happen in one window. It will take another window after this upcoming one to truly force out those on huge wages and get rid of the worst dead weights.

Then punt Haller for £20m on Skov, £20m on Pedro from Fluminense, and £15m on Amadou Diawara.

Bring back Holgate and Robinson and call up Feeney. Allow Baines and Jags contract to expire and add them to the coaching staff. That gives us Keane Zouma Mina Holgate and Feeney to choose from if need be.

Leave the RB situation as is for another season and go to the market the following summer.

Think another CM on top of them seems a need but could need to wait for that money the following window unless Gana leaves. I’d feel indifferent about him leaving but another younger work horse of a runner that can both ways up and down the pitch would be perfect

I agree I don’t either but I don’t consider Augustin an out and out striker either. More of a second striker. Not sure any of the Leipzig strikers are true strikers other than Poulsen. Even Werner showed in the WC that he was ineffective as a solo striker even in a 4-3-3

Bissaka alone will soak up all the potential money we make off the players especially if we sign Gomes and Zouma first
