Palace should of bit our hand off or that offer

and even that would of been generous hes a great player but that's insane money for someone richalison will deliver more any season you want

lets get this kid signed upfront is the prioity for me ... then see what other options we are on for

Brands is like me when i'm on Ebay, refuse to be beaten. He will just keep upping the offer until he gets the big W (win). He cant control himself, prob be out of the job by the end of August.

I know mate, it's strange.

Like I've said, if Brands has just randomly offered to smash our transfer record and then give in after one bid on a player that would definitely improve us, it's weird.
All I can think of is that the answer came back as a categorical no. He isn't for sale to Everton. So they decided there was no point making a saga out of it. But you'd have thought that they could have come to the same conclusion just from discussions. No need for a bid if we were that far away.

The most interesting thing for me is that we have £55m to spend on one player. One has to assume that's in addition to what we are planning to spend on Kean.

So they bid 52m then just walk away ...not a chance

100% yes, that's our value give or take and now Palace have an unsettled player.
Most importantly it's their best player. They are dreaming at £80mill and won't want to keep an unhappy player so us leaving the table could force them negotiating at £60mill.

Bit long winded but I've negotiated plenty of lost causes in my job and this has many a similarity.

If we offer 60 with tosun and McCarthy I think they'll accept, due to a way round the selling on fee with united.

Weird post. Everton have decided they can get better value elsewhere. Why would we offer way more than he's worth to us ? Where's the evidence that Palace want to be landed with Tosun and McCarthy ?

If we only bid for Zaha once, and it was at the weekend, then what it tells us is that he was way down our list of priorities and was definitely not 1 of the "targets" we identified in March. Which means it's either a smokescreen, or our plans have not materialised and we are now desperate.

Not looking good is it.

Between the transfer dealings and our inability to look competent in preseason this summer has come down to 9 crucial days. If this evening was any indication it is going to be wild.

A 55 million pound bid woudnt be down a list of targets surely
