Abdoulaye Doucouré.
What do you think about this Blues?
Not sure if there’s any truth to us being interested in signing him. He’s a great player, and it’d be great to have him with us. But should we be looking for another midfielder, before we’ve even bagged ourselves a decent striker?

It's an interesting one.
Doubt Watford would sell him unless he's prepared to kick up a fuss.

If we can get him for 35m would be a good signing... We have no clue how long Gbamin will take to settle into the Prem league, and Delph has had plenty of injury problems... I reckon Silva wanted Doucoure last summer but tensions were too high and with the Richarlison deal, there was no chance of getting both of them...

Watford aren’t selling him for 35 mill mate.

If we could get Doucoure (and it will take about £50m I suspect) it helps continue the clear attempt to create tactical options and variations within multiple formations 433/4231/442. At the moment we are tactically inflexible. Selling Gana and buying Delph, Gbamin improves that a bit (though Gana is a big loss to our base defensive 4231). Adding additional quality at MF, RW, Striker would cumulatively give us far more options. That is key to improving because last season we simply could not breakdown teams who defended deep against us. To really begin to threaten the top 6 we need both depth and flexibility.

I can only understand the Doucoure bid if Siggurdson is getting the chop. If we are genuinely moving to a 433 then it makes sense but if we persist with 4231 then this seems like an unecessary addition especially as Gomes and Gbamin will presumably be first choice with Delph close by.

Spot on.

You only need look at the bench today, there's just nothing there. We need options, plenry of them as well.

Could turn our like Lukaku. He went because he wanted to win something and didn't, Zaha wants Championa League, reckons he won't get it here, then we finish 3rd

We’d definitely upset a few teams with Richarlison, Kean, Zaha, Sigurdsson and Bernard to call upon... if we have the money then get him in!
