This summer could be the best for recruiting some youth players on the cheap. Hamed Traore, Ante Palaversa and Dru Yearwood are all under 18 and could come on the pennies for a dollar.

So you would go into the season with

Gana + Gomes
Baningime + Davies

?

I think this is a difficult question to answer as it's something of a false equivalency.

I would not want to start the season with the above, for a starting point I'd imagine we keep Schneiderlin. He's been very solid for us this year and we haven't conceded in the 4 games he's started.

My preference would be to move Gana on (for a variety of reasons) though I appreciate this is far from a straightforward decision. I would then want a physical presence next to come in and play in time next to Gomes. That is my preference.

I think signing a further 2 midfield players to play in that position would be wasteful and we ned up like 2 summers ago where we would have a multitude of players in a certain position (at that stage the 10 spot).

Otamendi looks like he could be available this summer. If Chelsea won’t sell zouma / price him out of a move would anyone take Otamendi?

I think he’s a great defender and I’d take him in a heartbeat.

I cant see him moving and doesn't fit the Brands age range being 31. Its a shame, because he is a great defender.

I really don’t want to see Gueye go. I think he’s brilliant.

Personally I’d like a physical midfielder to be brought in and don’t see why we couldn’t play with 3 in the middle - Gueye, Gomes, new midfielder with Gomes playing more forward of the 3. It works for Liverpool. We’d need better forwards for it to work though.
(Sig would still be an option, particularly when we’d play a 4-2-3-1 rather than a 4-3-3).

3 good years out of him? I’m all for signing young players but we do need some experienced heads in there, particularly ones who are used to winning.

Good to know you were bringing up a player linked with us in the press in 2016

Transfer Update 13:53

Ive got no idea what youre on about aside from you reading the daily mirror...

I’d leave that type of stuff to Zat if I was you mate
He has years of experience in it lol

Pointless to speculate on players much anymore as Brands takes us to a new level...ive lost my midas touch compared to bygone days :o

If we replace Gana with a monster and sign Gomes then who would the rotation options be? Just Davies and Schneiderlin?

Cant see it mate...i think we need 2.
