I really don't want Bertrand traore, just think we can get something a bit better.

Yep he's a decent player but he would be the sort of player who Wolves / Leicester would go for.

If we are serious about progressing we need to go for that player above and pay the extra £££.

£40 million for Neres / Lozano is a better investment than £20 million for Traore if the former pushes us into the top 6.

Strange statement. You mean a team that finished ahead of us and another that won the league a couple years ago, but he's not good enough for us? No telling that Neres / Lonzano are the answer. `Fact is we need a left-footed forward and Traore fits the bill.

I am a bit surprised it took so long for the "stats are bad" and "watch them play" comments to come out. Like the folks spouting a couple basic stats didn't also watch them play AND simply mention the stats for context.

And yes, I'm clearly Billy Beane. Moneyball came out over 15 years ago, guys.

I get what

I get what you're saying, but we're currently at the same level as Wolves and Leicester. It's going to take small steps to progress where we want to be in the current climate.

How is it strange?

If you sign players of the level of clubs below/around us we'll never progress its that simple.

We need to sign more players like Digne, Richarlison etc who are a level above and wouldn't look out of place in a top 6 side.

Same way we were 7th miles ahead of 8th as we had the likes of Lukaku who was miles ahead of other clubs strikers around us - if you then sign Hernandez or Deeney you aint moving up the table.

The rs signed mane and van dijk from Southampton. Robertson from hull.
Spurs signed trippier from Burnley. Wanyama and alderweireld from Southampton.
All will start champions league final tonight.
So signing players from teams below you does improve you .

We are not signing Lozano for a number of reasons, Neres, who knows what will happen with that he has the same agent as Richarlison and Bernard and we have made enquiries. Talk the other day was that we had made an approach for Malcom again. The issue with the Traore thing is, yes he is a left footed forward but he is not in the same league as any of the other three being mentioned. This would be a very poor signing imo.
