They are expensive future prospects - i think they are even in the subs bench of their own teams (sosa at least is) - good buy but they won't make the first team hugely stronger in a way we need if we want top 6
I think he will be part of the first team squad but will drop down at time for game time. I can see Silva wanting 6 players for the 3 midfield positions.
Gana, gomes, siggurdsson, Davies, sosa and a new player. That could change if gana is sold

Just catching up good work @Kinky Koeman haha. Glad you reported on my fave of the lot - Kingsley!

Bahaha I’ll be honest, I’m poor at scouting. I like certain types of players which creates bias. I’d be intrigued to know if scouts specialised in certain areas though.

When we talk about finding players for our team, I’m leaving it to the pro’s it’s easy to identify what you like, but identifying components of a player you dislike and believe can improve are not something you can measure -so I guess when it comes down to it the pro’s must use their gut feeling - this gut feeling is obviously more valued given their experience and exposure to so many different elements and factors we probably don’t even consider.

Looks like Lossl and 2 Argie's who will never play for the first team. Earning his money this Brands fella.
Or maybe he's gonna save us an enormous amount of money by signing them now for a combined €30m istead of buying them of another European team for £50m per player in about 2 years time? I'm confident that he knows what he's doing with our money. And that is a welcome change from the charlatans who have been in charge prior to him.

Can’t help but feel we’re a bit knackered on the new RB front now.

We’ve had interest in Wan-Bissaka since Brands joined but the asking price means he’s a no go.

James seemed the logical target but that injury has finished it off for this summer - which means he won’t leave Chelsea until at least they can replace him in a few years time.

Hope that Brands has ideas but already talking option C and D here.

Ok, while I respect putting something like this out there, I'm confused as to what some of this stuff means. Is Physical different than What is experience? Beyond that, how do you deal for a defensive mid that plays as an anchor, that doesn't tackle, but is excellent at positioning & anticipation and picks off a ton of passes b/c that's his role?

Now more specifically, if Sangare is a 7 in tackling, who is higher? Who on earth is a 10? Beyond that, does finishing really matter for a CDM?

Cheers for the feedback, I would have slated me for this ha.
I want to say, I like the American terms you bring to the forum - it’s a world game and I am intrigued how you interpret performances arguably more than British posters as fans we get saturated with buzz words that mean little e.g. end product and you hit on mine physicality - which to answer your question is something of a broad term for all the sub qualities you mentioned.

My made up scout reports offer no insight into a player at all. Qualities are not something I believe you can measure in isolation of one player as they need to fit the system they fall into (the team).

The scouts we have must have a mandate that is clear in its objectives about the qualities to search for. Qualities that at the end of the day may be expressed when viewing a player in one team - However them particular strengths that may be weakened when he plays in the system of a new team.

Basic example being Keane in Burnley’s team against playing in a more open environment with us.

Who’d want to be a scout?

....it’s a good point you make about ‘gut feeling’, KK, sometimes a player just looks right. Other key factors are; the team strategy (a player needs to fit the way we want to play); blend, a player needs to compliment others in the team; and attitude, I always use the term ‘plays like the game matters’.

For years people have wanted us to take this type of approach and now that we are they’re worrying that these players aren’t good enough. Real Madrid bought Casemiro straight from Brazil and he went into a team winning the CL three times. The talent is there if it’s scouted properly. Too many have been burnt by Stracqualirsi and Leandro Rodriguez.

Bang on. Marcel knows these markets quite well. The biggest challenge for him is understanding how the players would fit in, in this country as opposed to Holland. Probably sensible, in that regard, to stick to youth players at first. Gets to see if his thinking on them was right and, if not, can probably peddle them to his contacts in Holland and get our money back.
