Can’t help but feel we’re a bit knackered on the new RB front now.

We’ve had interest in Wan-Bissaka since Brands joined but the asking price means he’s a no go.

James seemed the logical target but that injury has finished it off for this summer - which means he won’t leave Chelsea until at least they can replace him in a few years time.

Hope that Brands has ideas but already talking option C and D here.

Anyone coming from other Prem teams would have been high fee/high wages. Brands may well have admired those two but I doubt they were ever goers for transfers. He’ll pull something out of the hat, don’t worry.

Wan-Bissaka could have happened in January, we’d had multiple meetings with Palace about him at that point.

But, yeah.

Agree with you here mate, can’t help but feel RB is as high a priority as a CM now especially with JJK going out on loan. We’ve seen how important a solid full back can be with Digne on the left, my hope was for Reece James but the poor lad is being laid off for a while
Interestingly, that Djene lad we’re supposedly linked with can cover right back...

Bahaha I’ll be honest, I’m poor at scouting. I like certain types of players which creates bias. I’d be intrigued to know if scouts specialised in certain areas though.

When we talk about finding players for our team, I’m leaving it to the pro’s it’s easy to identify what you like, but identifying components of a player you dislike and believe can improve are not something you can measure -so I guess when it comes down to it the pro’s must use their gut feeling - this gut feeling is obviously more valued given their experience and exposure to so many different elements and factors we probably don’t even consider.

Yeh to be fair I just see a player and think he’s good or he’s bad but I don’t think he’s good or bad for Everton.

All midfielders work out on FIFA.

Many, many other right-backs out there in the world than AWB and Reece James.

We tend to be very limited in our scouting in this thread - if it ain’t one of 3 names we are automatically apparently screwed.
It's because there are far too many on this forum that think the PL is the be all and end all, that's why.

Prefer we look overseas for players, the English system appears overly focused on physical traits as opposed to technical and football intelligence traits.

Sure we need physical strengths, but give me a player with a brain over pace all day long.

However finding a neat and tidy player capable of playing in tight areas coupled with the pace and awareness of getting in space ahead (when to go/stay) and the ability to deliver a cross appears to be a limited pool of players.

On paper Kyle Walker and Seamus possess similar qualities, but both lack a footballing brain - I don’t know who fits the bill but I’d be against throwing money at Wan-Bissaka purely due to the fact he won’t improve us. He’ll do well going forwards and he’ll do well defensively, but he wouldn’t be an improvement on Coleman.

It’s the same stand point I have on the midfielders we are linked with - Would much prefer a player like an Arteta or Frenkie De Jong type over a physical beast. Hopefully Sosa can be this type of player.

We need to make sure the midfield has a level of intelligence to dominate games, no surprise Gomes stood out like a sore thumb last season and inevitably became a focus point for the opposition.

Any ideas on intelligent RB/RWB’s Nymz?
