Move on please...the whole "Everton are his third choice, they want £80M and he wants to earn £150K plus doesn't sit well with me. Stuff him and he can rot in the Palace team for another year. Brands will find a better, cheaper option!
Surely we cant expect to be the lads first choice when Arsenal are his team and in his home city. I'm not sure Kean had Tim Cahill posters on his bedroom wall either. We should be trying to convince players who would ideally sign for better teams.

Could be miles off here as I don’t get into the FFP stuff too much, but...

Would including Tosun and McCarthy in a deal for Zaha at their full values of 13m and 27m help us from an FFP point of view? We wouldn’t actually be losing anything in respects of their value?

Yes and no. It inflates the value of the Zaha deal, so leaves us with a huge book value for him, which may be problematic in the future

Palace wouldn't want to take those players on with those valuations as they would have a greater liability if they flop

I thought only FFP only applied to clubs in Europe where UEFA are strict where the FA are not that bothered.

No, just the amounts are different

In The PL, acceptable losses over 3 years is £105m

IN European competition, you're limited to losses of £30m over those three years

PLus ManU get 20% of the sell on fee as well, so within everyone's best interest to reduce the 'cost' of the transfer.

PALACE STILL IN FOR McCARTHY
Crystal Palace
still want to sign James McCarthy from Everton, with talks back on according to Sky Sports News.
Having already had one bid rejected, Palace are understood to be trying to restructure a payment schedule.
We reported nine days ago that Everton had made a £55m bid for Zaha - and reported eight days ago they had made a second bid including McCarthy and Cenk Tosun.
Palace want McCarthy regardless of any potential swap deal involving Zaha.

Fiddling around with that aspect to minimise sell on fees to united without it being challenged might well have an effect on the deals in and out if between Palace and Everton if such a thing is actually being done.
