Summer transfer window 2023

It’s nothing to do with the stadium. The FFP and profit and loss rules are that any money spent on stadiums or trading facilities do not count against the losses.

The issue for us are; the high wages, high transfer fees in the past and the lack of income, coupled with Usmanov being sanctioned which meant we lost sponsorships from USM and Megafon.

If FFP didn’t exist, Moshiri would just throw more money around in the transfer market.
I know what you’re saying, but it is to do with the stadium too. I sincerely doubt he would be throwing money at the team whilst also funding the stadium up until this point.

I think FFP and P&S rules are a convenient excuse to cut off the funding. He is going to make a massive loss on us - admittedly because of how badly he has run us - think it's about minimising losses and walking away with as much of his cash back as possible at the end.

So why all the talk about needing to pay for transfers in installments? FFP/P&S doesn't care whether a player is paid for in total up front or 10 quid a year for 1000 years. It is all accounted for the same way.

So we are signing; Gnonto for the LW, Elanga for the LW, Danjuma on loan for the LW.

Dwight McNeil must be crapping himself! I guess we must be selling Gray?! And we are going to play some of these on the RW?
Can't see us signing all these or trying to replace McNeil personally

Only 1 from a corner.
He puts good crosses into the box, if maupay is playing it's pointless
Two.

Anyway not going to get into this again but his crossing is utter crap unless you just don’t count all the times he attempts to cross and fails. I’m sure someone is going to come by and tell me I’m wrong, again, but I just don’t care anymore.

Dwight McNeil you are a right winger!

I think people are just guessing and making stuff up. I don't think anyone on here knows at all.

Under Kenwrights ownership, I would agree, but for Moshiri the lack of funds is really to do with Usmanov being sanctioned and FFP.
If it were not for that we would have a shirt sponsor of Megafon for £30m a season and the new stadium would be called the USM arena and we would be getting £60m a season for that.

It’s different when you are buying, vs selling.

So if you are buying, and you agree to buy a player for £30m and pay it off at £10m a year for 3 years the cost is split over the terms and shown as a £10m loss on an annual basis for 3 years.

But for the club who are receiving the fee they can accrue the whole £30m fee in one year.

Moshiri will throw money at the end. He know if we dont sign some players, we must relegate. It will massively decrease the value of team. We are just changed the strategy on transfer. We may just buy after the sales of players.

Would see him as a wide forward or as a second striker linking with dcl with his pace to run off him

Can’t rule anything out with Everton. In a previous window we signed 3 “number 10’s” when we needed strikers. We need strikers again, why not sign 3 left wingers?!
Gnonto specifically can play off either flank as a second striker and probably as a forward too

We are linked with several wide men as we have feeders out for one and we will sign the one that is a) cheapest & b) accepting payments over 3 years. We won’t sign 2/3 we will sign 1 that allows us as minimal as possible up front
