He’s only played off the right twice for Leeds and 3 times at senior level in Switzerland.
He has played as a SS in Switzerland 26 times, so the manager could be looking to buy him with that in mind.
We really need someone with a bit of height and physical presence to lead the line though. I wouldn’t like to see Gnonto as a lone striker.
indeed because if our game is based on getting it out wide to McNeil and getting crosses in the box then players like Gnonto and Danjuma dont seem to be the right player to play central and we may need 2 new players with a bit of physical presence besides DCL in case of injuries.
That is why i was hoping for Rodrigo (being versatile as well) but according to a latest update from Myers it seems a bit more unlikely now and he might be off to Saudi. So Gyokeres / Ndiaye NO, Piroe gone quiet, Rodrigo less likely and El Bilal too expensive / probably off to Atalanta once they sell their striker to Man Utd. Where is Weghorst on our list lol

Will be interested how Dele / Cannon perform in pre season. Dele might be well equipped to be as an emergency nr 9, did ok there under Lampard i thought

yes he would - compared to Maupay/Gray as nr 9. At least there would be someone in the box at the end of McNeil's crosses.
and Weghorst is still a Dutch international who scored 2 against Argentina not so long ago. Cant see Maupay doing that.

Definately would have have been first choice striker for 75% of the games last season. Might not be your first choice but I stand by the statement.
Weghorst has been as bad as Maupay for United, and Simms would have been a better option last season. Atrocious player. Smh.

Have to start getting deals done in the next fortnight.

Even so, I'm resigned to still needing 3 or 4 players by deadline day. Even in a best-case scenario there we'd miss out on a couple and be left short on numbers let alone quality.

The gap between the start of the season and the deadline is a real problem for us. That only suits the big clubs. The club could point to that as an excuse, but in reality they've made their own problems such that these rules cause us maximum difficulty.
