If Everton are willing to spend £15m on Gnonto I don't know why we wouldn't be willing to spend £12m on Piroe or the supposed £4m agent fee for Dembele + £8m for Elanga. If we're cash poor I'd rather us cover several bases than sign someone who could turn out to be the 19 yr/o Italian Maupay.

Because gnonto is better than all of those players you listed. His ceiling is much much higher and he’s only 19 the best is yet to come. Dembele is a free agent and Elanga is garbage. Ultimately if we purchased mediocre signings like Elanga and Piroe we will be in the relegation battle this season.

We know all this. What they should do is get a forward on loan if it's going to drag on /we can't afford any deals that way we are strengthening a bit before the season starts. But I know they don't do logic when it comes to recruitment...

There is not one credible British source reporting we have bid for anyone.

Yes , we will have plenty of 'Irons in the fire' , but for me they will all be on hold until this Investment/ Takeover is finalised.
We have a temporary board in place unable to sanction anything until this is sorted.
All very depressing , but we all new & feared this would be the case when Kenwright stayed on & Moshiri joined him.

The investment won't be finalised until "the end of the summer" according to reports. We can't go into the season with no forward additions(again).

The quality of the league doesn't come into it. If his ACLs were totally knackered, he wouldn't manage 55 games in a season. He also played lots of games in Europe.

So it doesn't mean that he will likely break down again. The issue will be if he has lost any pace/agility, which I can't answer as I have never seen him play.

Also, Everton should be smart and leverage his injury history to reduce the price.

From what I have seen if Gnonto he had half a good season with Leeds. I don't think he's a bad player by any stretch of the imagination but Elanga also had a good half season, in my head they have similar ceilings. I'm not sure what kind of an argument 'dembele is a free agent' is but we undoubtedly need multiple attacker's so blowing the budget on one 5'9" attacker doesn't make sense to me

Just once youd love some positive // dare I say it exciting news in this forum but think I’d win the lottery before that will happen . The club is a shambles .. I’m sure there has to be some room for wages given who’s gone out so do you look at the free players market . It would be criminal for powers that be let us start this season without more // better striking options . Genuinely I could y care less if Wrighoust was to come in or if a senior striker came in cause at the minute we have Tom Cannon - Gray - DCL . Whenever this stadium is ready to move into I think we should just go in , it might just mean that clown Moshiri goes once and for all
