I believe that to a point mate.

I believed we had to sell Richarlison to reinvest and improve it didnt happen, his outgoing went to bring a loss down.

I believed we sold Gordon and Rondon so we could sign a couple of players in January and clear space of the wage bill - that didnt happen.

Many recent examples of us loosing highly influential players - that just haven't been replaced adequately and fees pocketed to bring down losses.

Im just sceptical now both on the finances, reinvestment, but also the logic in selling first team players - Gray in this case - it shouldn't be done unless we have an incoming deal lined up - one for one and should be of more quality, instead of diluting the quality of the squad to cover losses - there comes a tipping point.
The tipping point is fast approaching especially if we start to lose some friendlies and continue to sign nobody then people are going to get very angry very quickly.

Unless they want turmoil from game 1 this season this board must spend on players. No explanation as to where the money from Gordon and Kean has gone. Not to mention the fees picked up from other sales this summer.

We can’t sell our sellable assets and replace them with loans and free transfers. That’s not going to fly.

Our squad is awful. Any money generated from player sales desperately needs to go back in to the squad.

The Arteta money has been a meme for over a decade yet we have recouped over 70m since January and some are still talking about us having to sell before we can buy.

People aren't silly mate, they know 75 mill walked through the door from Jan - June in Kean and Gordon.

We just watched the academy be pillaged for another 10 - 15 mill.

Now Gray and a few others are linked with moves away.

People know the wages that have been cleared.

Clock it all up with nothing incoming, beyond Young.

People are justified to ask WTF.

Do we blindly just write of say the Kean and Gordon money and say, Everton you badly run rascals.

We cant just nod along and accept it like good little "customers".

Its too serious, the club are peeing down our backs and telling us its raining.

Still waiting for us to replace Arteta...

Gordon and the Academy lads would be pure profit in FFP sense. Less so on Kean as he would have had amortised costs to be written off against whatever we received for him.

There are different types of cash in this world now.

If you can get your academy producing good quality players that are sold it is super helpful for FFP

We should know recruiting a player is not as easy as press a button.
I believe we must have something to spend but just too cautious.
Another point is we are in 16th last year and that is not easy to attract the player come.

The harsh truth is we are not a very attractive option to attacking players. We have twice narrowly avoided relegation barely creating chances. We have a manager renowned for making forwards run themselves ragged defensively. We currently look weaker than how we finished last season.

We have to pull out all the stops to convince somebody to be the first to take the leap but can no longer simply throw cash at them. Ideally somebody with enough profile to help make it easier to convince the next one.

It is getting a bit "where's the money gone Bill?"

Anyone else still miss the days we used to daydream of having Nugent partner Anichebe up front?

No me neither. But it's preferable to this horror show. Proper sausages the lot of them.
