People aren't silly mate, they know 75 mill walked through the door from Jan - June in Kean and Gordon.

We just watched the academy be pillaged for another 10 - 15 mill.

Now Gray and a few others are linked with moves away.

People know the wages that have been cleared.

Clock it all up with nothing incoming, beyond Young.

People are justified to ask WTF.

Do we blindly just write of say the Kean and Gordon money and say, Everton you badly run rascals.

We cant just nod along and accept it like good little "customers".

Its too serious, the club are peeing down our backs and telling us its raining.
the kean money hardly even gets mentioned by most people especially papers

Last season we were reliably told by many that we would not sign anybody.
At the same times we were strongly link with dozens of players and I think that Tarkowski was one of the very few that happened... it did not take an itk that transfer was likely.

Eventually we brought in a total of eight, nine if Kudus had joined.

Apart from a couple of days before the transfers happened I don't remember any links to Vinagre, Onana, Garner,McNeill or Kudus.
I can't remember about Coady, McNeill or Maupay.

I certainly have no idea how much we have to spend or who our targets are, but for everybody who says we are chasing Gnonto and Toure there are others saying we are not involved at all... so goodness knows.

I would expect we will bring in players not mentioned at all yet and I think we will have to wait as we try to manufacture deals that we can afford and at the same time are acceptable to the clubs selling.

But, I do think players will arrive.
I would be more positive but the club told is this in jan and the squad is even weaker now. I just cant trust this club untill i see players in can work all they want to bring players in but we need to see the deal complete. Trying is not good enough results is all that i care about

The problem isnt numbers mate, we need a squad of 25 max. It needed to be reduced.

The problem is the only players other clubs want are our best ones and a failure to replace them, leaves us with a low quality, but more importantly an unbalanced squad - we dont have an attacker but have sold or got rid of Tosun, Kean, Richarlison, Gordon and Rondon in the last calendar year - even more if you go back 24 months - with no or poorer qaulity make do replacements, or none at all.

We finished the season with Gray leading the line - now we are trying to sell him (after selling Simms)...................its madness unless we have something and more lined up.
We should sell gray if a good offer comes in, he’s poor. I’m sure we will bring players in. If we have to sell first, then let’s got on with it

We need to massively upgrade what we have at the same time too. And it seems the transfer money we’ve made since Richy doesn’t count in this windows ‘kitty’.

Why are we waiting until after preseason to bring in players? Surely we need players who have bedded into the squad are are upto speed with the gaffer's tactics before the season starts... so frustrating being an Everton fan.
I agree its madness we threw away five games at the start of last season and at this rate it's happening again. It's because of financial issues and terrible ability to recruit probably a bit of complacency let's be honest they've done it for years. We have the same people in charge so its panning out the same way.

We all thought it was just the Koeman and Walsh deals that were responsible for crippling the club.

Williams, Sigurdsson, Klaassen, Rooney, Bolasie, and Schneiderlin were all players we gave massive deals to and then either gave away for free or booked a big loss on.

Then came some of Silva and Brands' own contributions of Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes, G'Bamin, and Iwobi. Again massive wages and no money coming back.

Then we get to Ancelotti and have Rodriguez, Allan, and Doucoure added to the mix. Ben Godfrey is in here somewhere. Again, massive wages and no money coming back.

We all said it would take us years to dig ourselves out of the Walsh and Koeman years and then we did even worse. There's about 10 or so deals worth 2-300 million in fees and more in wages that's just been lashed away.

Like I said, Bobble has been fairly consistent that this won't happen.
But Branthwaite will leave us because it’s player power. And yet Gnonto happy to stay in the championship. Leeds journalists wanting to push the narrative.

Like they always say, clubs now contact players first, for Everton to be in contact with Leeds, they must have had encouragement. How often do you read players has agreed personal terms, before a deal is even struck between the clubs

Apparently he isn't though and it's Leeds standing in his way.

Exactly. Think a lot is coming out via his agent and we’ve clearly been given encouragement. Leeds may well want to keep him but the lad is already an Italy international and will want to keep his place. No way he wants to stay in the championship.

It’s a different year now. But I get what you mean. We have a long time to balance the books. Just needs someone owner/investor to put their hands in their pockets

…Thelwell threw away a further 33 games bringing Maupay in.
